Chapter 132

The toll booth girl was briefly surprised, then shyly covered her face, "Oh, is it that obvious I'm drained." Shakira chuckled, "Miss, you're very pretty. I saw the duty schedule through the window."

The girl turned to glance at it and immediately felt relieved, "Oh, that's why. I was on duty last night."

Shakira nodded, swiped her phone a couple of times, and showed a photo of Mitchell. "Do you remember if this guy drove a Porsche through here late last night?"

Almost immediately, the girl exclaimed, "That's him."

"Last night he asked us for directions to Snaky Mountain. That place is tricky, with too many curves and it's really narrow. Plus, it was foggy last night. We advised him to wait till daylight to go up there, but who knows if he listened," She added. Shakira's eyes darkened. She thanked him, hit the gas, and sped away.

Meanwhile, the Nelson family also received news from Fraser about tracking Mitchell's last location after exiting the highway. They all drove from Crescentville to catch up.

Following the GPS, Shakira arrived at the base of Snaky Mountain. Below, the forest was thick. Looking up, the winding mountain road appeared endless, stretching out of sight.

In the passenger seat, Sean, who couldn't complain anymore, looked up, his legs trembling uncontrollably. "Are we really going up there?"

Shakira didn't say a word, she just floored the gas pedal and zoomed up the mountain.

Sean let out a piercing scream and tightly shut his eyes. All they could hear was the sound of the wind and the loud revving of the engine, like being on a roller coaster.

No one knew how long it took before the car finally came to a stop. Sean didn't hesitate to jump out of the car and vomit, feeling completely disoriented.

Shakira glanced at him, slightly furrowing her brow, tossed him a bottle of mineral water, and then got out to check the area. On the yellow dirt road were two deep skid marks from sudden braking.

"They're dark and haven't been covered by dust yet, so they must be from today." Shakira glanced around and suddenly narrowed her eyes.

As they moved down to a narrow bend, a large chunk of rock was missing, and loose stones were scattered all around. A slight lean over the edge revealed an endless expanse of dense forest below.

After Sean finally stopped retching, he looked up and was horrified to see Shakira halfway over the edge. "Shakira!" he shouted.

Shakira straightened up and said to him, "There's a rope in the trunk. Let's check it out."

Sean's eyes widened; it was just the two of them there. "Who, who's going down?"

Shakira twitched the corner of her mouth, "Me." With a safety rope fastened, Shakira skillfully descended the steep

mountainside.

Halfway down, she saw a shattered Porsche lodged in the tree branches, her gaze turning dark. When she finally reached the foot of the mountain and saw Mitchell lying on the muddy path with a gash on his forehead, her heart skipped a beat. She quickly walked over and checked Mitchell's breathing. He's still breathing!

Shakira breathed a slight sigh of relief and patted Mitchell's face "Mitchell, wake up!"

Mitchell's eyes were shut tight, his face pale, completely unconscious. Without hesitating, Shakira pulled out her phone and

made a call.

When the Nelson family arrived at Snaky Mountain, the police had already set up a barricade at the base of the mountain.

Seeing the huge crane pulling the wrecked Porsche out of the woods, Rebecca couldn't wait any longer. She jumped out of the car and fell to her knees!

Yvette, Finn, and the others hurried to assist Rebecca, who was already sobbing uncontrollably. "Mitchell, my Mitchell!" she cried out in grief.

Yvette held Rebecca tightly and turned her head away. "Mom, please don't do this. Mitchell wouldn't want to see you like this..."

She glanced at the twisted sports car, thinking, 'If the metal ended up like this, how could a person survive?'

Mitchell is probably in grave danger.

Cody's face was filled with sadness and defeat, as he struggled to hold back his tears.

Fraser walked over, looking serious. "I'm very sorry, but we couldn't find Mr. Nelson."

Ahint of joy appeared on everyone's face, except Yvette, whose expression changed slightly. "My brother wasn't in the car?" she asked.

Fraser shook his head. "The Porsche 911 is severely deformed, and the car's dashcam is damaged, so we can't retrieve any data. The preliminary investigation suggests that the car was going too fast while turning last night and accidentally flipped

over.

"However, only a small amount of blood was found inside the car, and there were no human remains. Mr. Mitchell Nelson likely exited the vehicle after it went off the cliff," Fraser said.

"How could this happen?" Yvette instinctively blurted out a response, then realized her reaction was too sudden, so she quickly changed to a cheerful expression, "Mitchell is so smart. He surely escaped early. Not finding him is the best news!" Rebecca nodded repeatedly and said, "Yes, yes, Mitchell is fortunate and definitely got away. It's going to be alright."

Yvette looked at Fraser and said, "Fraser can surely help us find Mitchell."

Fraser glanced at her, shook his head, and said, "The fall was over a hundred meters in an area with few people. There are frequent reports of wild monkeys, dogs, and boars attacking nearby houses. I'm afraid Mr. Lopez might be... Fraser tried to cushion the news. After all, falling from such a height leaves little chance of survival. Without a body in the car, it's likely he became prey for the wild animals.

At these words, the hope that had just ignited in the Nelson residence immediately plummeted into despair. "My son, my

poor son!"

By now, Rebecca had completely shed her refined image as a high-society lady, standing there as just a regular mother who had lost her son, overwhelmed with grief. Sobbing, Rebecca suddenly thought of something and began hitting Cody like she had lost her mind.

"How could this have happened? It's all your fault! Why did you stop the others from following Mitchell? If someone had been with him last night, even if Mitchell was confused and reckless, we could have stopped him in time!" Rebecca yelled. 2/3This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

Cody stood motionless, Rebecca blamed him, and he also blamed himself. He wanted to teach Mitchell a lesson he would never forget. Who could have imagined that his one cruel decision would result in his son losing his life? Finn and Felix were filled with sorrow, their eyes red, unable to accept such a harsh reality.

Just last night, their family had been dining and chatting together, and now, overnight, they were separated by life and

death!

Yvette was crying uncontrollably, her face full of sorrow. She held onto Rebecca and sobbed hoarsely, "Mom, please don't, don't blame Dad. He's feeling miserable too."

"If I don't blame him, who else can I blame?" Rebecca screamed hysterically, her face suddenly changing, "Shakira!"

She clutched her chest in piercing pain, "It was her, she caused Mitchell's death. If we hadn't brought her back from Belaris, Mitchell would've never lost his mind. Our family would've stayed complete, and none of this would've happened."

Rebecca's eyes were red, almost as if bloodshot, with hatred ready to burst out. "It was Shakira, she was the one who cursed my son to death!"
