“You lost her, Nikolai,” she said, shaking her head and walking out of my office.

I didn’t lose her!

I shook my head and glanced at my laptop, the tractor showed her location and I immediately rushed outside.

She’s pregnant with your child! Nikolai! My subconscious yelled inside my head.

How can she just leave like that? She should have told me about her pregnancy. Why didn’t she tell me?

I was so blinded in rage and by the thought of being used, that I didn’t notice what I was doing to her. I don’t know if I was right about her or not, but what I did back at the office was wrong.

I shouldn’t have done that.

I feel terrible guilt as whatever happened between us in the past few days rushed to my mind. My behavior was rude and it made me feel ashamed of myself.

I stopped in my tracks as I reached the location, I fisted my palm and clenched my teeth as I saw Dimitri there and the anklet which I put on Julianna’s leg was on his leg.

Fuck!

She put the tracker on Dimitri before leaving.

Damn it.

“God,” I ran my fingers through my hair before turning back and strolling to my office.

I ordered my men to bring the CCTV footage of every corner of the mansion, and check it. From the footage, I saw Julianna leaving the mansion last night with a bag and returning in 20 minutes. In the morning after Lorenzo and Vanessa left, she sneaked out of the mansion and escaped from the backyard.

Watching the footage, anger rushed through my system. I slammed my fist on the desk in anger while cursing under my breath.

“She escaped in Lorenzo’s Yacht,”

I can’t believe she escaped from me.

I grabbed my mobile and dialed Lorenzo’s number, but immediately hung up.

I just can’t involve him in this matter.

“Damnit,” I placed the phone on my desk,

“Cole!” I called,

“Yes, Boss,” he immediately replied,

“I want you to contact our men in Los Angeles and tell them to search for Julianna, send her details to them,” I said, “I want them to search every single inch of Los Angeles for her, I want her alive and it’s a direct order,”

I will not let you leave me, Julianna.

Suddenly I felt a slight pain in my chest, as seconds passed it began to grow and my vision began to blur. My breathing became unstable, I placed my hand on the desk while I felt my head spin.

The pain was intense, all my muscles inside were aching and I felt my legs giving up. All I heard were my own unstable breathing and my heartbeat before I hit the floor.

“But…” I hear Pen’s worried voice,

“Please don’t worry, Penelope,” he cut her off,

“What’s going on here,” I asked while opening my eyes,

“Nik,” Pen and flora rushed towards me as they heard me, “How are you feeling now?”

“I don’t know,” I replied,

I glanced at Seb for answers, “Can you please leave us, I need to talk to Sebastian,” I requested.

“Yeah, Sure,” Flora said while smiling at me.

Once they left, I glanced at Sebastian, “What is it?” I asked,

He sighed and sat on the chair, “We need to contact the donor,” He said.

“Why?” I asked,

“Nik, your heart is reacting strangely to some things… You need to tell me when you began feeling the ache in your chest?” he said,

“Okay,” I replied, and began trying to remember when I felt this pain.

The day when I first kissed her, I felt this pain and from then, whenever I saw her crying or hurt her I felt it. I feel as if my heart doesn’t want to hurt her and beats rapidly in her presence, which is strange.

“It began to hurt recently,” I replied,

“Nik, You need to be more specific with me,” he said,

I sighed, “Okay, fine, there’s this woman who I bought here recently and I began feeling this pain ever since I kissed her,” I confessed and told him every single time I felt it from then on.

“I…I just feel like… she has a special place in this heart and… it belongs to her,” I added thinking of her.

“So, you never felt it before this woman’s arrival? Like after the surgery?” he asked,

I shook my head saying no.

“Okay, I think we should get a complete background check on your heart donor, Nik,” He said, “To understand this situation, though I didn’t find any issues with your heart,”

“Okay,” I replied,

“Will do,” I spoke,

“Okay, then, use these meds and take rest, don’t stress,” he smiled, “your mafia dealing can take rest too,”
