The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning

Chapter 1244

Chapter 1244

Blake did all she could to try and track down the person who had taken Madelyn away. She requested

leave from work from Liam. Liam initially wanted to accompany her, but Blake refused.

Based on an address given to her, she eventually arrived at a medical research institute. She saw

security guards standing outside. Unless someone walked out, no one from the outside could enter.

Blake took out a name card and passed it to the security guards. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

Unexpectedly, they would warn her with a severe expression, “The person you are looking for isn’t

here. I’m warning you: leave now, or we’ll call the cops. We’ll sue you for disturbing the peace and

obstructing official business.”

Anyone present here had a certain level of status. Blake did not dare forcefully break in. As she turned

around, she slapped her forehead in regret. She mumbled, “Blake, how could you forget about this.

Liam is the son of the mayor. He could solve this with just a phone call. Why didn’t you let Liam join

you? How could you make such a simple

mistake?”

The security guards saw that she had not left, so they used their

internal line to give a call, “Dr. Stewart, someone is looking for you.”

Kai took off his mask and walked out of the laboratory. When he reached the end of the corridor, he

took out a cigarette and lit it. He asked the security guards, “What do they look like?”

The guard answered, “She seems young, a little over twenty. She’s wearing a black uniform and her

name’s Blake. She says she’s Ms.

Jent’s friend, and her sister is Ms. Harper. She looks like she’s

searching for someone.”

“Understood,” Kai replied and hung up the call. After taking a few

more puffs, he put it out in the trash bin.

Just as Blake planned to call Liam, she remembered what Kevin had

told her: To not trust anyone. She immediately suppressed the urge to

call Liam. She did not make the call in the end.

Blake waited in the car as time passed by. From noon to the evening,

then the evening until night. Blake was getting drowsy and could only

use spearmint chewing gum to keep herself awake. She had lost

count of how many coffees she had drunk.

She raised her wrists to check the time; it was already eight at night.

Her phone had also run out of battery. Blake had no choice but to

leave the car and walk. The cold breeze kept her slightly awake.

When the security guards were changing shifts, Blake wrapped

herself tighter, then leaned onto a railing. She was getting too bored

and wanted to talk to someone. She asked, “Hey, soldier boy. You

seem young, around twenty-five. Do you have a girlfriend? Do you

want me to introduce you to someone?”

The guard was stoic and unmoved. He stood firm at his post.

Suddenly, she heard someone greeting another person nearby, “You’re off work, Dr. Stewart? Your wife

is giving birth soon, right? Her belly has grown so big. It might be twins.”

Lana was moving slowly with Kai’s help. Kai walked beside her and

replied, “Thank you for your kind wishes, Dr. Parker.”

Seeing the person who walked out, Blake immediately stood up. She

stared at the couple, then walked over with a smile. She greeted Kai,’

Dr. Stewart.”

Lana saw who walked over and glanced at Kai. She asked him quietly,

“Who is she?”

Kai did not even give Blake a single glance. Instead, he looked at Lana gently and said, “Someone who

doesn’t matter.”

Blake followed them shamelessly. When she looked at Lana, she was

stunned. She thought to herself, ‘Isn’t that Andrew Stewart’s wife?’
