There wasn't anyone else in the designated elevator, so it was just the two of them. As they were waiting for the elevator to reach its destination, Lucy spoke up. "Do you have any appointments this afternoon? If not, we can have lunch together."

Without another thought, Cindy replied, "I'm busy this afternoon. Maybe next time."

Cindy didn't know if Lucy had realized that she was just making excuses. Either way, Lucy smiled and gave a simple response.

After the elevator doors opened, Cindy was the first to go out. She didn't bid Lucy goodbye, heading straight toward her office.

When Cindy arrived at the office entrance, she noticed that Serena was already there. She glanced at the time and saw that it was almost working hours, so it was reasonable that Serena would be present.

As Serena turned and caught sight of Cindy, she nodded at the latter. However, she also saw Lucy walking behind Cindy.

Lucy looked at Serena, then raised her hand to wave in greeting.

Serena responded in kind. Then, when she looked at Cindy, her expression turned into that of exasperation. Cindy went back to her seat. Soon, Serena walked over to her. "Did you bump into her this morning?"

Cindy knew what Serena was trying to ask about, so she nodded. "Met her at the entrance of the building."

Serena smiled. "You poor thing."

Cindy smiled helplessly as well. "I know, right?"

She had declined Lucy's invitation today, and she had no idea when Lucy would ask her for a meal together next time. It would seem cruel of her if she kept declining, so she would have to agree eventually.

When Cindy thought of that, she felt a little troubled. If she agreed and went, she wouldn't know what to do if Lucy bombarded her with questions.

Cindy didn't dare think about it. She was especially amazed by Lucy for being able to go so far on her own. It was quite a feat indeed. Either way, Cindy would never embarrass herself the way Lucy did.

Serena went back to her own office soon after. Cindy took out the design she drafted yesterday, then made some adjustments to it. When it looked good enough, she delivered it to Serena.

Serena was quite satisfied with Cindy's design. "Looks good, and you worked quite fast this time. I have another order here. I'm not sure whom to give it to, but since you're done already, you can have it."

Cindy was stunned. She had a feeling that Serena had been especially nice to her these days. It might be because she had declined Lucy's invitation, and Serena was glad about that.

From Serena's comments on Lucy, Cindy could see that Serena wasn't on good terms with her. Even if Serena tried to be more objective about it, Cindy could still sense her underlying feelings.

Meanwhile, Ian had just completed the morning's worth of filming, so he returned to his green room and sat down. The filming went quite well that morning, so he didn't feel too tired.

Ian's driver passed him a bottle of water. "What would you like to eat for lunch? The lunch they prepared should be here already, but I don't think you'd want to eat those. Shall I go out and buy lunch

for you?"

Ian waved his hand. He wasn't too hungry at the moment. "Maybe later. If you're hungry, please go ahead."

The driver took a seat at the side. "I'm not hungry, either. I don't have any appetite."

After a while, he looked like he couldn't stand it anymore as he looked up at Ian and asked, "I heard that your contract is expiring soon."

Ian stopped halfway through his motion of drinking water, then nodded. "Yes, my contract is expiring."

The driver immediately asked, "So you have no plans of extending it?"

Ian put down his glass of water and thought for a bit before saying, "At the moment, yes. I want to rest for a while."

The driver sighed. "If you're not extending the contract, I will definitely be assigned to someone else. I will have to return to my previous days… I don't dare think about it."

He seemed glum. "You might not know this, but in the past, I kept getting ordered around to do all sorts of stuff, but they don't pay me extra for that. Compared to working for you, those days were horrible and exhausting."
