THE REMORSEFUL BILLIONAIRE

CHAPTER 25

Felix’s POV

“The managing director of Everton medicals, Nathan Everton just proposed to his girlfriend with a diamond ring worth several thousand of Euros in a five star hotel. His girlfriend, Judith summers is a very beautiful woman, and she agreed to his proposal. We wish them a lifetime of happiness,” I heard the reporter say, from the television in the bar where I was seated, drunk and wasted.

“Hey, bring me more drinks” I shouted drunkenly.

I wouldn’t have thought that Judith won’t even give me the chance to explain myself, let alone consider getting back with me. She seemed so different; she isn’t naive anymore. She must have gotten stronger after her ordeal. After all, who would go through that and not become tougher?

The fact that my feelings for her won’t go away puts me in a devastating state. No matter how much I try I find myself thinking and worrying about her. It had even gotten so bad that I hired someone to stalk her for me.

Now, she is getting married to the most eligible bachelor in London, Nathan Everton. Even with the fact that she had two kids from an unknown man, he has overlooked that. He even loves and cares for the kids like they were his; something I failed to do.

I should probably go back to America, I have lost my girl for life, it’s difficult to accept, but I should move on and hope to get someone just as beautiful and heartwarming as her.

“Hello, I’d like to book a flight to America,” I said over the phone to an attendant at a travel agency.

After booking the flight, I was still seated, wallowing in sadness, when a young guy walked up to me. He sat down across the table me. From his dressing and accessories, I could tell he is an influential person.

“Hello mate,” he said as he extended a hand shake.

“Hi, who are you?” I asked as I took the hand.

“Chill, chill, man,” he said and laughed. “I’m a friend. Trust me, you are going to be so grateful to me when I propose my deal”.

“What deal?” I asked impatient and confused, because I don’t know him or remember having a deal with anyone.

“That’s why I said you should chill, man,” he said as he raised his hand. “Hey bar man,” he called.

A lady came, and took his order. As she was leaving, he spanked her ass and laughed. The lady didn’t say anything; she just turned back and gave him a cold stare.

“What an asshole,” I thought, annoyed.

“What? Why are you looking at me like that?” he said after her as she left. “You should be glad John Everton found you worthy of his touch.”Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Everton, the name sounds familiar,” I thought as I scanned my mind for where I had heard it before.

“Everton or not, you shouldn’t treat a woman like that. It isn’t right,” I advised. “I’d have thought she would slap you.”

“Nah, she dare not. I’m going to make sure her whole family regrets it,” he threatened. And you aren’t in the right position to advise me on how to treat women,” he said in a condescending tone.

I was extremely furious and ready to give him a punch, when he said “you being weak is the reason why you can’t get Judith back, and I’m ready to help you do that, if you agree to the deal I’m proposing”.

“Judith, how do you know about her?” I asked, confused.

“I’m an Everton, Felix. I know everything I want to know,” he boasted. “I know everything and everyone, and I can tell you for sure that with what I know, getting your girl back is a piece of cake” he said as he sipped his drink and puffed smoke.

“And what the hell do you know?” I asked eagerly.

“First, I’m Nathan Everton’s step brother; Judith fiance.”

“Now, I know where the name comes from,” I thought as I watched him speak.

“So you can see, I know a lot. First, I have a business deal I want you to help me fund,” he said and brought out a file which handed to me.

“And why should I do that” I asked as I took the file and scanned it. “You want to import a drug to Africa, how is that a problem, and why does it require so much funding.”

“The drug I want to import is called Thalidomide. It has been banned in Europe here but not in Africa, I have a pharmaceutical company that can help me to produce it illegally here in Europe, and I will then export it to Africa for sale”.

“You know this deal is a shady one right? What if the Africans know about it, and the deal goes south?” I asked.

“The Africans won’t know about it. I have been doing this for a while. I will be really careful,” He said, reassuring me.

“So you want me to invest before you can tell me whatever it’s you know?”

“Yes, Felix. I love that you are so smart “he said and laughed mockingly.

“You’d better get outta here, I’m not interested in the damn deal,” I shouted angrily.

“You don’t want my deal? I’m giving you the chance to be with the woman you’ve always loved,” he said confidently.

Immediately, I began wondering what he knows that made him confident. What he knows must be very significant for him to be assured that I would be willing to pay thousands of dollars for.

“Judith means so much to me, I can always make more money later on, but finding a woman like Judith seems impossible,” I muttered

“Do the paperwork, and let’s meet tomorrow,” I finally said after several thoughts.

“I have the paperwork with me already,” he said happily as he opened his brief case hurriedly.

I was shocked when he brought out the paperwork bearing my correct name and his. “He must have known me well,” I thought as I signed the contract.

“Now, start speaking. Let’s see if what you know is worth the deal,” I declared.

“Nathan was speaking to father last week of which I was eavesdropping, do you know that Nathan was the one who assaulted Judith in Rome and disrupted your wedding? , he is also the father of the twins, and I have a paternity test to prove that ” he said in a low tone.

I became dumbfounded for a while. Trying to make meaning of what I heard, then I smiled. The heavens must have been on my side; Judith and I must have been fated to be together. A rare opportunity to claim back my woman.

“Tell me more about it,” I said hopefully…..
