The Rejected Luna: Daddy, Where is Mommy?

58

“I didn’t have to settle with her. It was supposed to be just a one-night stand.” Calvin reasoned. “Now, please get this work done as soon as possible,” he added.

“Hmm. By the way, Mom & Dad are returning to the pack tomorrow. And if I’m not wrong, then they might throw a small family party at home the day after tomorrow. I mean, dad would have thrown a big party for Reva’s arrival, but because of this incident, he wouldn’t.”

“You have to be there by the positions of my brother as well as my Alpha. So that you can add Reva to the pack officially.” Zordan said, even though Calvin would surely come. “By the way, are you going to add Ethlyn to the pack as well?”

“Of course NOT. Hearing her name, I wonder where she is staying tonight. Your house, right? After all, she is your sister-in-law.” Calvin asked.

“I doubt she would have left Rose’s side,” Zordan said and checked the time. “Good night now. My mate will be waiting for me.”

“Yeah! Yeah! Good night!!” Calvin checked the time, and it was one at night. He hissed, realizing that Roselet must be waiting for dinner. He quickly left his office to reach his daughter. But when he entered the penthouse, all the lights were off.

He couldn’t help but feel sad when he realized that Roselet wasn’t waiting for him. But she used to wait till ten or eleven at night. He was really late tonight.

‘I hope she would have eaten her dinner properly.’ He mentally thought and canceled his plan to eat dinner without her, but that was when the door of Roselet’s room opened silently, and Ethlyn walked out of it.

‘Calm down, Calvin. Calm down.’ He mentally spoke and went into his room to freshen up. After a while, he came back quickly to check on his love, who was sleeping peacefully, opening her mouth. ‘I’m sorry, sweetheart. I didn’t join you at the time of dinner, but daddy was busy tonight.’ He apologized and kissed her forehead. He tried to sleep but couldn’t because he wanted to know whether she had eaten her dinner properly or not.

When he couldn’t control himself, he dialed Nelina’s number, and it was switched off. He left Roselet’s room to knock the door of Nelina’s door.

“She ate her dinner properly,” Ethlyn spoke, who was in the kitchen and was taking out the warm food from the microwave. “On a condition that you will also have your dinner properly or from next time, she wouldn’t eat anything.”

Calvin opened his mouth to say that he wasn’t interested in eating dinner, but he controlled his mouth. He knew Roselet would ask about it tomorrow morning.

“You don’t have to act like my wife already.” Calvin hissed when he saw Ethlyn bringing warm food to the table.

“I’m not interested in becoming your wife. It’s another condition of Rose that I should be with you, helping you in serving food and sitting beside you while you will have your dinner because you don’t like eating your dinner alone.” Ethlyn hissed back.

“Lie to her that you were with me last night,” Calvin said, stopping her from serving his food.

“Why will I? If you have any problem, then you can tell her that you ate dinner.” She fired back and served his food. Both glared at each other for a while, and then they realized what they were doing.

After dinner!!

“Where the hell are you going?” Calvin asked when Ethlyn started going toward Roselet’s room.

“In my daughter’s room.”Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

“Sure. Come on!! I will be sleeping with her. I won’t mind sharing a bed with you as well. After all, it’s not the first time when we will sleep together.” Calvin said sarcastically.

“Youuuu…”

“What did you do before staying here at night? Your father gifted this penthouse to me, huh?”

“Don’t you dare involve my father in the conversation,” Ethlyn growled, and Calvin showed a glimpse of Roselet in her. Just like her mother, she couldn’t tolerate anyone speaking about her father. He sighed before speaking again.

“I’m sorry.” Ethlyn’s eyes widened because she didn’t see that coming from his mouth. “I think we should talk.” He said and walked toward the couch, signaling her to join him.

“I heard everything that you told dad.” He paused before continuing. “But my thoughts about you are still the same.”

Ethlyn’s jaw clenched hearing it, but she thought to speak only after he would finish himself.

“But at the same time, I don’t want to ignore the words of the mother of my pup, who is saying again and again that whatever that night was a trap. That’s why I have started the investigation.” Calvin said, surprising Ethlyn again.

No one! No one had thought about it. Never her parents nor Nathan. So, it really meant a lot to her.

“It’s already too late for tonight, so tomorrow, I would like to know the story before you lose consciousness. Everything that you can recall about that night, okay?”

Ethlyn nodded her head.

“Word, Miss.”

“Yes, Alpha Calvin.” Ethlyn said before asking, “Thank you so much.” She spoke with a smile.

“You don’t have to pass a smile. I promise I will wipe it when I will find out that my thoughts about you are right and forget about staying anywhere near my daughter after that.” Calvin said rudely before leaving from there. “By the way, you can stay in the last room in the row.”

‘I shouldn’t stoop so low that when if she would come out clean. I would have no words to apologize.’ He mentally thought, entering Roselet’s room.
