The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret

Chapter 279 Confrontation

Chapter 279 Confrontation

Frey felt a chilling numbness spread through her as she hurried toward Technologent Group. The urgency of her steps was the only thing reminding her she was alive and breathing.

Fortunately, Technologent Group was close to her company, and in about twenty minutes, she burst through its doors.

Her sudden arrival caused a stir among the employees. They were eager for any gossip about Frey's reappearance and intrigued by the tension that had been palpable in Nathaniel's absence.

Frey took the elevator to the twenty-eighth floor, moving faster with each step until she flung open the door to the president's office.

Nathaniel was alone, leaning back in his chair, lost in thought.

Without a word, Frey stormed in and slapped Nathaniel hard across the face. The force of the slap turned his face to the side.

"Mr. Nathaniel!" Koen, who had accompanied Frey, rushed in behind her, his hand hovering near the gun holster at his waist.

"Get out!" Nathaniel's voice was icy, carrying an authoritative command.

Koen hesitated at the door, unwilling to move.

Earlier that morning, Nathaniel had been in a foul mood, isolating himself in his office and refusing to allow anyone to follow him. They had received the news of Jacob's death before the media.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

Jacob had died before reaching the municipal hospital, his injuries too severe to be saved.

Koen and his team had seen Frey rush into Technologent Group and, noticing her distress had followed but arrived too late to prevent Nathaniel from being struck.

"Get out!" Nathaniel threw a folder at the door in frustration.

Koen carefully closed it behind him.

Nathaniel had always taken a twisted satisfaction in occupying the office that once belonged to Gomez, relishing the revenge it represented. The building's prime location and amenities, including an indoor swimming pool, added to its appeal.

The sunlight streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows cast harsh shadows, accentuating the tension between Frey and Nathaniel. Frey's gaze was piercing. "Did you kill him?"

Nathaniel's expression was dark as he touched his sore cheek and sneered, "Are you mourning for your lover?"

"Nathaniel, you're such a devil!" Frey's voice shook with anger.

Nathaniel's eyes were cold and unyielding. "Frey, do you not know how the Rivera family treated the Gomez family?"

"Do you want me to remind you?"

Frey glared at him with clenched teeth.

Nathaniel chuckled darkly. Though he rarely smiled, his rare smile now only heightened the chill running down Frey's spine.

He stood up slowly, causing Frey to

grabbed her neck and pushed her against the mahogany bookcase.

The impact made Frey's back ache, and before she could react, Nathaniel kissed her fiercely. She struggled, trying to slap him again, but his grip on her wrist was unyielding.

He looked at her with cold intensity. "Frey, remember this. If anyone comes near you, I will kill them!"

"You lunatic!" Frey shouted in fury.

"Frey," Nathaniel's voice was chilling,

"You knew you'd come for us eventually after you got out of prison. This is just the beginning, isn't it?"

"What? Are you panicking now? Feeling remorseful?"

"Frey! It's too late!"

With a forceful shove, Nathaniel threw her aside. She stumbled into the door frame, feeling the full weight of his madness.
