The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret

Chapter 264 Humiliation

Chapter 264 Humiliation

Frey quickened her pace but suddenly stumbled and fell, her knees hitting the ground painfully. Tears welled up in her eyes from the shock of the impact.

She grasped the wall beside her, trying to steady herself, when a pair of polished men's leather shoes came into view. Looking up, she saw Nathaniel's cold and stern face staring down at her.

Frey frowned. It was unusual for Nathaniel to be in such a rundown alley, especially so far from the central office building of Technologent Group. Nathaniel, dressed in a sleek black suit and standing rigidly, seemed almost out of place amid the disheveled surroundings. His serious demeanor made Frey question if this was the same man who had called her, begging her not to leave the night before.

Nathaniel tilted his chin slightly, sizing up the disheveled woman before him.

In just one day, Frey had gone from being his well-kept companion to this. Her clothes were wrinkled, her knees scraped, her face pale, and her hair unkempt.

His fingers, hidden in his trouser pockets, clenched into fists. Beside him, Abigail's arm was linked lovingly with his. Abigail, dressed in a Persian-style sweater dress and a beige windbreaker, had her hair styled in an elegant bun with diamond hairpins.NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.

Frey took a deep breath and attempted to walk around Nathaniel and Abigail to avoid them.

"Ms. Frey, are you alright? Why did you fall? Can't you even walk?" Abigail asked with a mockingly sweet smile.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Looks like you had a rough ride on the bus."

"Do you need a ride? Oh, and you probably don't even have a place to stay now. How unfortunate!"

"How about this? Andy and Freddy's room is free. You can stay there. It doesn't matter if you're living together with cats and dogs you can take Andy's room."

Andy was Abigail's dog. The Hill family's villa was large enough to have separate rooms for their pets.

When Abigail and Frey had been close friends, Frey had known the names of all of Abigail's pets.

Now, Frey looked past Abigail and locked her gaze on Nathaniel.

Anyone observing the scene would recognize that Abigail had seized the chance to retaliate and humiliate Frey. During the time Frey was under Nathaniel's protection, Abigail had been unable to act against her.

Now, however, Abigail was free to strike.

Nathaniel stood silently, his eyes darkening as he watched Abigail humiliate her.

Frey sneered as she saw that Nathaniel was willing to watch her get humiliated.

Just great...

At this moment, Koen and the others

followed behind Nathaniel. They seemed to be out of breath. They had driven Abigail smoothly to the company and were on their way to discuss the wedding with the Hill family when they had stopped abruptly in the alley.

Nathaniel had exited the car hurriedly, followed by Abigail.

Koen could now see clearly why Nathaniel wanted to get out of the car. Frey was here in the alley, looking distressed.

Frey laughed softly and stood on tiptoe to face Nathaniel directly.

Abigail, on the other hand, was

visibly flustered. She hadn't

expected Frey to be so audacious. It

was apparent that Nathaniel had e

moved on and was no longer interested in her, but Frey was still advancing toward him as if she were trying to rekindle something. It was a sight that might repel anyone.

Nathaniel's expression shifted as he observed Frey's face coming closer as if she was offering a kiss.

His fingers, hidden in his trouser pockets, involuntarily tensed. Despite everything, a small part of him still hoped for reconciliation.

From the moment he had kicked Frey out in anger, regret had consumed him more and more deeply, dragging him further into his remorse.
