She felt uncomfortable under his stare, so she walked up to him and simply took a cup of water from the table and said, “Do you want some water?”
He was surprised, but he forced himself up to take the cup. “Thank you!”
He glanced at the fruit baskets on the table after taking the cup. There were fruit baskets everywhere; it seemed like Koen had not had the time to settle them.
“I want to eat some apples,” he said, licking his dried lips.
Freya did not know what to do then. Ever since she got out of jail, the two of them had been quite awkward with each other. They were biting each other’s tails, wanting to hurt each other badly. She felt that Nathaniel was abnormal talking like this; she had goosebumps hearing his words. It seemed like he was trying to get her attention with this excuse.
