CHAPTER 16: The Excitement

"I WANTED YOU to know that even though you're my daughter, you're still my pack member. Everyone

is treated fairly here. Now that we're on training, I will show no mercy," Calista said seriously a few days

later when they started to train. It was actually Lilian's idea to train with Calista, or her mother.

Until now, she still can't believe the fact that Calista is indeed her mother. Calista treated her like a

fragile woman this time. But whenever they are training together, she's like another woman. She's

ruthless and shows no mercy like what she said.

Lilian breathed heavily, feeling the pain on her stomach after Calista punched her harshly. They're

doing hand to hand combat right now. And Lilian could really see how good Calista is on this. Actually,

even on knives and archery, she's good at it. There's nothing that she's not good at, making her the

most suitable Alpha of the Midnight pack. Lilian could feel her Alpha aura rolled off Calista like a wave

as she seriously fought with her.

"T-Then that's good. I do not want to be treated like a damsel in distress princess," Lilian replied as she

wiped the sweat rolling down from her forehead.

Lilian decided to attack this time. She punched Calista on the face but she just kept on dodging it.

Calista was so fast to the point that Lilian didn't see the punch on her stomach coming. Lilian was

pushed backward as her back hit the ground, making her cough.

"Urgh!" Lilian groaned at the sudden attack of Calista. She coughed repeatedly.

"The Blood Moon is nearing and you intend to go back to your previous pack for revenge. And yet

you're not yet physically ready? Pathetic," Calista said as she looked down on Lilian, taunting.

Lilian shook her head. "I'm ready!"

"No, you're not."

"I am-- fuck!" Calista suddenly punched her. "Why did you punch me all of a sudden, mother?!"

Calista smirked. "You talk too much. And really? Mother? I thought we already set our rules when we're

training? No mother and daughter right?"

Lilian couldn't help but to glare at her. Well, she was the one who set that rule. Ever since Calista was

the one who's training with her, Lilian said that they shouldn't treat as mother and daughter. Calista

liked that idea even though she refused at first. Calista showed no mercy when they're training.

After a couple of seconds, they started to punch each other again and like always, Calista always won

against her. Well, nothing's new to that anymore.

"AREN'T YOU EXCITED for the Blood Moon?" Maya asked a month later after Lilian's training.

Days passed by really like a blur. Lilian didn't even notice how days passed by quickly. She's enjoying

her training with Calista and learning new things about the wolves. She's also studying with Jackson

sometimes, one thing that she really enjoyed the most since she started teaching the pups a few weeks

earlier.

"Not that much," Lilian answered as she dried her hair with the towel. She just got out of the bathroom

after she took a bath.

"But what if your mate will be there? I'm sure that would be... awesome!" Maya said as her eyes glinted

The Blood Moon is a very special occasion for the wolves. It is the mating night for the wolves. There is

a traditional program hosted by the higher ranked wolves and will attend the party in an exclusive five

star hotel.

Calista will also attend and she will bring Lilian to the party to introduce her as her own daughter. It was

actually crucial in Calista's part as the Alpha of the pack since it's very rare for the wolves to have a

female alpha. However, Lilian knew Calista so much. She won't back down if ever they will throw some

insulting words at her.

And about the mating process... Well, Lilian doesn't really think that much about it. For the past years,

she was fine not meeting her mate. She was fine because... Alpha Karius was still with her that time.

But as of now, she never really cared about it that much anymore.

Mate? Two wolves uniting for love? It's just a bull of crap for her now.

After everything that she had been through, Lilian refused to believe in those kinds of stuff now. Love is

not like that. And heck, not everyone who's mated loves each other. Some also cheat even though they

are already committed to someone.

"I won't go to that event to find my own mate, Maya," Lilian said seriously while looking at her reflection

in the mirror.

For the past months, she also studied her own expression. She learned how to hide her own emotion

for her own sake. She also learned how to fake it.

"But... why? To find your own mate is the most exciting part of being a wolf!" Maya's tone was filled with

disappointment as she pouted like a kid. "That's better than being... mateless, right?"

Lilian nodded and said, "I just don't feel it."

Maya shrugged her shoulders. "Well, if that's what you want, I can't do anything about it anymore. But

may I just remind you that when your mate will finally come to you, nothing or no one matters to you

anymore. The only one that you see is your own mate. And of course, the mating process during the

Blood Moon is also about... sex!" Maya giggled.

Lilian just shook her head and blushed a bit. Maya has already found her own mate, maybe that's why

she's this excited for her to attend the party. She knew what would happen at that event. Maya was

given by the moon goddess the most understanding mate. Lilian already met Maya's mate and she can

say that they really love each other genuinely.

"Shut up, Maya."

Maya giggled again, teasing her. "You wouldn't know what would happen once you met your mate but

you would surely feel the heat that you needed to release with him. There's no need to stop yourself for

the sake of your thirsty wolf..." Maya said and smirked at Lilian.

She just shrugged her shoulders. Well... feeling the heat is inevitable but she will try to control herself

at that moment.

Love and mating stuff is not her priority now. And what's really in her mind is the fact that she will surely

see Alpha Karius in that party again. She will see the man who hurted her again.

But well, this time, she's ready and excited. She wanted him to see the new woman that she hurted

before.

What will he even feel once he sees her? And aside from that, she intends to start her revenge on that

night of the Blood Moon.
