CHAPTER 10: The News From Calyx

THE WHOLE PLACE was a mess when Alpha Karius arrived at his mansion. He clenched his jaw at

the sight of those bloody wolves as the fire started to consume the side of the house. He immediately

commanded the other wolves to start helping the injured wolves. They are now trying to kill the fire as

he looked at the intruders.

He clenched his jaw at that sight. His pack, obviously, is not in good shape right now. He can't help but

to also blame himself for what happened. If only he didn't pay too much attention to his irritation

towards Gianna, maybe this will not happen. Maybe he was able to stop everything.

Surprisingly, the intruders stopped from attacking the Moon Stone Pack when they felt the Alpha aura

of Alpha Karius. As they should. Because Alpha Karius won't think twice to fight back if ever they won't

stop from harming his pack members. It angers him how they easily get inside his pack, knowing that

they have strong force plus they already merged with another pack. It somehow makes him think that

they are not just ordinary wolves, or packs.

Alpha Karius decided to talk to one of them through the mind link.

"How dare you lay a finger on my pack! What the fuck do you want, huh?" Alpha Karius asked as his

wolf stepped forward. The intruders unconsciously stepped back while looking at him with fear. His

black wolf is emitting a dark light, making everyone shiver and tremble.

One of them decided to talk through the mind link. "We came here to get one of our pack members.

She's here..." His brows furrowed, for that reason, they decided to harm his pack? What a petty reason!

"And you decided to make a mess here without even asking me if who the fuck that pack member that

you want to get?!"

"Trust me. You wouldn't want to give her to us if you'd know who it is," the wolf calmly answered as if

he's not even affected by his Alpha aura, or maybe he was just pretending to be tough since Alpha

Karius could also sense the hesitation in his tone.

"So, you resorted to killing my pack members?! How dare you all!" Alpha Karius roared and made sure

that they saw his sharp canines. Even the whole Moon Stone Pack felt his powerful and dangerous

alpha aura that they all looked down, not wanting to look at him. "Who the hell are you looking for? Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Everyone here is my pack member. They are all mine!"

"You're wrong." The wolf intruder chuckled insultingly through the mind link as his wolf shook its head,

like he was also disappointed by what Alpha Karius said. "She's ours. And we saw everyone here

hurted her, even your Luna. It's time for her to go back to us... her real family and pack."

Alpha Karius couldn't help but to feel confused about what the wolf just said. Who among his pack

members are they talking about? Who could it be that they want to get?

He clenched his jaw. One thing is for sure, he will protect his pack no matter what happens.

"WHAT THE HELL have you done, Gianna?" Alpha Karius asked Gianna with his gritted teeth the

moment she stepped inside the room. It was actually his room, but Gianna insisted on staying there so

he had no other choice but to stay in his secret house to not see her often. It actually irritates him, he

had to move out from his own mansion.

Gianna flashed her most pitiful face, her lips quivering a bit with her teary eyes. "I... I-I'm sorry, Karius--"

"It's Alpha Karius to you, Gianna," he said, cutting her off from speaking. He almost rolled his eyes at

her for calling him that way. Even... Lilian doesn't even call him by his first name. Thinking about her,

Alpha Karius suddenly missed her. What he had with her is gone now. He needs to accept that painful

truth. She's better off without him. And he would be a big asshole if he will still continue seeing her in

secret.

After everything that they had been through, Alpha Karius finally came to realize that a woman like

Lilian shouldn't be kept as a secret. She's a nice and amazing woman, he felt bad for keeping their

relationship hidden.

If Alpha Karius was able to keep up with Gianna's crazy antics the past few days, well, not now... not

anymore. And heck, he did let her call him by his first name the previous days because he knew she

was doing his pack a damn favor but he can't do this anymore. He's done with her. Anyone can call him

selfish now but he doesn't care anymore.

She gulped, her expression changed a bit and was shocked for a second. "A-Alpha Karius..."

"You punished an Omega without even informing me. You made everyone hate her, without even

hearing her side properly. You accused her of something that she didn't do. Now, how do you want me

to react about it, hmm?" Alpha Karius asked as he brushed his own hair with his fingers in a frustrated

manner.

"W-Why are you even defending that damn Omega, anyway?! You should side with me! I'm your Luna!"

She told him, not realizing that she already raised her voice to him.

Alpha Karius chuckled without any hint of humor in his tone. "Obviously, you're the one who made a

mistake here, so why should I side with you? Don't make me laugh. And you're my... what? Luna? We

both fucking know that what we have is just a damn set up. You know my stand on this matter."

He doesn't want to sound cruel but Gianna is really testing his patience. He never knew that she could

be like this. He never knew that she would take it all seriously. All the things that he heard about her

was good news. But maybe, all those things are just a facade to cover up her real color. She's not nice

like everyone thought about her. She has an anger issue. He had been observing her the past few

days, too.

"Y-You're so cruel to me, Alpha Karius. I just want the pack to be better! And clearly, if that Omega

won't be punished, everyone will surely follow in her footsteps! If I don't do that, everyone will not be

afraid to commit the same mistake again! Why can't you see that?"

He sighed. He clearly got her point but... why did she have to come up with the idea to humiliate the

Omega in front of all the wolves? She's the one who's cruel here! She can just talk to the poor Omega

without humiliating her!

"Stop your drama, Gianna."

Gianna shook her head aggressively. "And I freakin' know your stand in our relationship! I know! I know

that you're not feeling the same way as me. But I still... l-love you. Even if it hurts." She paused a bit

and chuckled dryly. "That's the sole reason why I agreed on this set up. I agreed to help your pack and

even persuade my father to merge with your pack to be close to you. Tell me, Alpha Karius. What

should I do for you to also love me? What should I do for you to make everything real... without

pretensions and all, hmm?"

He clenched his jaw. Alpha Karius is aware of Gianna's feelings for him but... what can he do? He will

only love one woman in this lifetime, even though he already pushed her away. He already hurt her so

badly that he doesn't have the face to see her again. Lilian... he just hopes that she's well and good

right now.

But then, the last time that he saw her was when Mason was pulling her harshly. And he didn't do

anything to stop him. Damn it. At that time, he asked a wolf to look over her and the wolf said that Lilian

was already in a good condition at that time. Did that wolf... lied to him?

He went back to reality when he heard Gianna's sobs. "Nothing. Nothing, Gianna. I'm sorry but I can

never reciprocate your feelings for me," he answered before leaving the room, not glancing at her

again, but the last thing that he heard was his cries.

In Alpha Karius' head, he reminded himself to look for the wolf that he asked to look over Lilian after

Mason took her. He needs to know about her whereabouts before he loses his damn sanity.

***

WHEN THE NIGHT falls, Alpha Karius went back to his secret house again after visiting those wolves

who were injured by the attacks of the intruders earlier. He was actually tired, physically and

emotionally, now that the pack is also starting to question his capability as the Alpha since he wasn't

there when the mess happened.

He sighed. It was exhausting but he's trying to fix it all and gaining back the trust of his pack again.

He's also stressed out with the fact that the wolf that he asked to look over Lilian was nowhere to be

found. He already asked Calyx to find that wolf but he still had no news about him. But that doesn't

mean that he would stop. He needs to know the news about Lilian.

"Alpha Karius, I have something important to tell you," Calyx came, breathing heavily as he looked at

him.

"What is it?" Alpha Karius asked him. He also commanded him to investigate what really happened

before the intruders came, the full details since he wanted to make sure that he wouldn't miss anything.

"I... I finally got the name of the Omega that has been punished by Luna Gianna and the wolves in the

pack. But... sadly, according to some of our men, the Omega didn't make it. She... died." Calyx looked

down and sighed, like he's also sad about the loss of one of their pack members.

For some reason, Alpha Karius' heart started to hammer so fast against his chest. What the hell? What

is happening to him? Why is he this nervous as he hears Calyx's news?

"Say the name."

"Promise me, you won't freak out and lose your shit first," Calyx told him.

Alpha Karius' brows furrowed. "Just fucking say the name!" He couldn't help but to raise his voice

anymore. Calyx should not beat around the bush! He has too many things in his mind now, but here he

is, can't say directly what he wanted to say.

Calyx clenched his jaw. "I-It's... It's Lilian Montgomery, your secret lover. I'm sorry, Alpha Karius..."

At that moment, Alpha Karius felt like his world suddenly stopped from revolving as a loud explosion

echoed in his ears. He felt his heart shattered into pieces as his tears started to well up his eyes.

Did he hear it right? Lilian... His Lilian is... Damn! She didn't make it? She's... dead?
