CHAPTER 05: The Sweetest Revenge

BLOOD. IT was blood that came out from her femininity. Lilian was so shocked that even though her

body was giving up, she still tried to stand up and look for help.

"H-Help! Help me, p-please!" Lilian shouted when she successfully got down from the tree house.

Maybe it was the adrenaline rush that pushes her to move quickly before everything is too late. She

doesn't even know anymore how she was able to get down since she's already dizzy. Her surroundings

were spinning that she's about to give up but no! She must move and get help!

Lilian continues walking desperately despite her wobbling knees. She's in the middle of the forest and it

was impossible to get some help at this moment but she will still try! She will try for the sake of her

baby! She will never give up!

"Help me..." Her throat is getting dry. She already stopped from crying but the pain she's feeling on her

lower abdomen is getting worse! And the blood won't just stop from gushing down to her legs. She's

losing too much blood! "No... please, h-hold on, baby. M-Mama will get some help," she whispered to

When she finally got out of the forest, it was a miracle that she saw a woman walking, so with all her

strength, Lilian shouted again for help. "H-Help! Help me!"

Lilian successfully got the attention of the woman who happened to be Penny, the witch who confirmed

her pregnancy.

"L-Lilian?" Penny asked as she looked at her with her confused expression but it vanished immediately.

It was replaced by her worried expression when she saw the blood on Lilian's thighs. "What happened

to you? G-Goodness, you're bleeding!" Penny blurted out and rushed to Lilian and held her arms.

"Penny, help me. Please, my baby! Please, save my b-baby..." Lilian almost whispered. She was

relieved that finally, someone will now help her but she's still worried about her baby. She's silently

hoping that everything will turn out well after this.

Seconds later, Lilian finally fell into deep slumber.

LILIAN WOKE up with an aching body. When she's finally conscious, her brows furrowed when she

saw that she's inside an unfamiliar room. The walls are made with mostly wood. Some heads of wild

animals are hanged there too as a display. There's also a table at the side, at the top of it are some

bottles and tubes, maybe some herbal medicine? Lilian is not really sure.

"You're finally awake."

Lilian glanced at the door when someone came inside. It was Penny. She was holding a tray with a

teacup on it.

"P-Penny..." Lilian's voice was still hoarse. She tried to get up from the bed and lean on the headboard

then looked at her.

"Drink this. It will help you to regain your energy," Penny said and sat beside her then gave her the

teacup. There's a green liquid on it and it was still smoking hot. Penny assisted Lilian to drink it slowly.

The taste of the liquid was actually bitter but Lilian didn't mind it and just drank it. "W-What happened?"

she asked Penny and tried to remember how she got in there.

"You're in my house right now. I'm sorry, I took you here since I don't really know where you live. You

were asleep for almost three days."

Lilian's eyes widened a bit as she placed back the teacup on the tray beside them. "T-Three days?"

Penny nodded.

She tried to recall what happened. It hits her like a damn tornado. From where Alpha Karius broke up

with her to the... baby! The baby!

"W-What about my baby? Is my baby safe, Penny?" Lilian asked with her shaking voice as she held

her stomach.

Strange. It was really strange since she couldn't feel anything anymore. It felt... hollow. What happened

to her baby?

"L-Lilian, I'm sorry..." Penny said with her now teary eyes. She reached Lilian's hands and held it tightly,

like she's giving her strength to her touch.

Lilian's heart suddenly skipped. "Why are you saying s-sorry, Penny? What happened to my baby?!"

she asked her nervously. Her eyes suddenly heated like she's about to break in tears. She shook her

head multiple times like she's having an idea already about what happened to her baby.

"The baby... the baby didn't m-make it. I'm sorry, Lilian. I tried to save you but the baby..." Penny

sobbed and then hugged Lilian so tight. She kept on saying sorry to Lilian and caressed her back softly.

"Penny... no! My baby! Please, tell me you're just kidding. My baby is still alive!" She cried on Penny's

shoulder. Her tears won't just stop streaming down her face. Her heart was breaking as she thought

about her baby...

Her baby is gone. Her baby didn't make it.

"PLEASE, LILIAN. You need to be strong."

Penny was the one who took care of Lilian. Three days have passed but Lilian is still mourning her

unborn baby. It pains her to think that her baby didn't even see the beauty of the world, she didn't even

have the chance to be a mother to him or her. Lilian smiled bitterly. She's not even sure about the

gender.

"I don't know what I'll do with my life, Penny," Lilian told Penny as her hot tears brimmed the corner of

her eyes. She was just staring at the ceiling of the room where she's in right now, unmoving and

doesn't have much energy to exert so much effort. She felt weak.

Penny sighed. "I won't force you to move but will you be fine alone? I have to go somewhere. There will

be an announcement in the Alpha's mansion later. I think this has something to do with the rumor about

the merging of two packs. Everyone must be there but if you still can't come, I understand."

Lilian suddenly looked at Penny. "I'll come. I'll come, Penny," she told her that made Penny's brows

furrowed then immediately agreed.

"But are you really sure? I know your condition--"

"I'm fine now." She cut her off from speaking. She has to be fine. She needed to confirm and see with

her own two eyes if Alpha Karius is indeed tying the knot with another woman, even if it will hurt her to

the bone.

"Okay. We'll go together."

Lilian let out a deep sigh before she forced herself to get up from the bed. Penny lent her a decent

dress to wear. The dress was actually tight on her but she doesn't have the strength to voice it out to

Penny anymore and when it's their time to leave, Lilian suddenly feels tense. She will see Alpha Karius

again, that's for sure.

Penny and Lilian both went to the Alpha's mansion. Like the previous days, the security was tighter this

time. Some wolves were already entering the big gate in front so they blended in with them. Moments

later, they finally entered the mansion. It was Lilian's first time to enter the Alpha's territory. Bitterness

crept in her system when she realized that the whole duration with her relationship with the Alpha, he

didn't even bother to invite her there.

When the wolves were now settled on their seats, a man suddenly came up to the center making them

all look at him.

"Good day, everyone! This day is very important to our Alpha as he will announce something big to us.

Kindly relax on your seats and wait for him--"

"No need." Someone suddenly interrupted the man from speaking. It was Calyx with his most grim

expression. "The Alpha is here... together with our future Luna!" he announced.

And like a slow motion, Lilian's gaze went to the man and a woman behind Calyx. It was Alpha Karius...

and an elegant and pretty woman clinging to his arms.

Lilian swallowed the lump in her throat as she looked at them both together. They looked perfect and

happy. They are both smiling widely as everyone clapped their hands on their arrival.

Her hands automatically balled into fist as she thought about how happy he is right now with another

woman when she's still mourning their child. How unfair! He should experience her pain, too! He should

be hurt too!

As the lone tear escaped from her eyes, she promised to herself that Alpha Karius will later on taste

her own revenge... her sweetest revenge!
