Elena quietly watched and noted how concerned I was about Riya, she wears a weak smile, when the ambulance came home and carried Riya to the hospital, yet she kept a watch on me.

It’s been an hour, however, the doctor hasn’t come out of the emergency room, actually, the last time I prayed was the day I asked God to help me and get my mom exposed, now I pray that nothing happens to Riya, I might not say this much, but I have learned to care about her, don’t ask! I swopped in before Elena could ask, the doctor shook his head and a cloud of relief hovered around us the moment we took heed of his words.

Elena walks closer and placed her hand on my shoulders, veering my attention to her.

“Yes! Ma’am, is there any problem?” I asked, she shoots a smile and signaled I follow her outside to talk.

I walked behind and taught myself, what does she want to talk about?, Finally we strolled outside the hospital, swiveling her eyes to me.  “Tell me something, Salem, do you like my daughter?”

I ran a check on her, and come to think of it, what warranted such a weird question from her.

“I am sorry ma’am, but I only take Riya, as I friend, nothing more and nothing less”.

The assurance in my tone, gave her the clarification she wanted, finally deciding to let go of the conversation, but I know she ain’t going to drop it so easily.

We returned to the hospital and it got to our notice that Riya had regained consciousness, a weak smile draped over my face, thankfully she’s out of danger.

“Yes, mom, I am okay! But is it only you guys that came to the hospital? What about Salem? Didn’t he come as well?” She asked Elena, who walks out of the room to call me but noticed that I had already left, returning to her ward.

I got an important call that needed my attention, I stopped a cab and it took me home, as I  strolled over to my room.
