Rescuing His Family (2)

Chapter 47 Rescuing His Family (2)

“They took him to Ramos.” Alfredo informed her.

“I don’t know what they’ll do to him. Please you have to help him.” Carlos’ wife begged.

“I’m so sorry,” Alfredo said, his hands shaking. “I’ll do everything I can to find him and get him back to you.”

“Thank you,” Carlos’s wife said, her eyes filled with tears. “I just want my husband back, safe and sound.”

Alfredo nodded.

But suddenly a thought crossed his mind. Why were there no securities outside securing the location where Carlos family were being held?

He took his phone and called Raven.

“Hello Alfredo. His Carlos family safe?” Raven asked.

“Yes, we found them and they’re safe,” Alfredo said. “But something doesn’t feel right.

There was no one guarding the location. It doesn’t make sense. Why would Ramos leave the place unguarded?”

“What?!” Raven said, her voice sharp with concern. “That’s not like Ramos at all. Something’s definitely not right.”

“I know,” Alfredo said. “I have a bad feeling about this. Something’s not adding up.”

“We need to find out what’s going on,” Raven said, her mind racing.

“Can I speak with my family?” Carlos asked.

“Sure.” Raven said.

“Alfredo, Carlos wants to speak with his family, to know that they are really safe.”

“Sure, let me get to them.” Alfredo said on the phone.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

“Hello Carlos?” Carlos wife said.

“Amelia. Are you and the kids alright?” Carlos asked.

“We’re all okay, Carlos,” Amelia said, her voice quivering. “We’re safe now thanks to the people you sent.”

“I’m glad to hear you’re safe,” Carlos said, a sense of relief washing over him. “And I’m sorry for everything that’s happened. I never meant for any of this to happen.”

“It’s alright Carlos. Just you come back to me and the kids safe and sound.” She said.

“I’ll do everything I can to come home to you and our kids.” Carlos promised

Carlos paused for a moment, then spoke again. “Amelia, I need to ask you a favor,” he said, his voice serious.

“Anything, Carlos,” Amelia said, eager to help in any way she could. “What is it?”

“I need you to get the kids out of the city,” Carlos said. “I’m not sure what’s going to happen, and I don’t want them caught up in it.”

“I understand,” Amelia said, her heart breaking at the thought of leaving the city without Carlos.

“This men you sent are already planning to take us out of the city and away from danger. Don’t you worry about us and just worry about yourself okay?” she said.

“I’ll try,” Carlos said, his voice heavy with worry. “But I can’t stop thinking about you and the kids. I just want you all to be safe.”

“We’ll be fine,” Amelia said, trying to sound reassuring. “You just focus on what you need to do to get back to us.”

There was a long silence, then Carlos spoke again. “I love you, Amelia,” he said, his voice full of emotion. “No matter what happens, I want you to know that.”

Amelia’s eyes filled with tears at his words. “I love you too, Carlos,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “I’ll always love you. Nothing can ever change that.”

There was another long silence, then Carlos spoke again. “I have to go now,” he said, his voice thick with emotion. “I don’t know when we’ll be able to talk again.”

“I understand,” Amelia said, her heart breaking. “Just stay safe, okay?”

“I will,” Carlos said.

“I have to go now,” Carlos repeated, his voice heavy with regret. “I wish I could stay and talk to you longer, but I have to do what I have to do.”

“I understand,” Amelia said again. “And I know you’re doing this for all of us, for our future.”

“I am,” Carlos said, sounding more resolute now. “I’ll be home soon. I promise.”

Amelia took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. “I’ll be waiting for you,” she said.

Carlos hesitated for a moment, then said, “Goodbye, Amelia.”

“Goodbye, Carlos,” Amelia said, the lump in her throat making it difficult to speak. “I love you.”

“I love you too,” Carlos said, and then the line went dead.

Amelia stood there for a long moment, the silence of the room ringing in her ears. She wanted to cry, but she knew she had to be strong for her children. So she took a deep breath and turned to face them.

“Thank you, for keeping your words.” Carlos said.

“I’m not going to let Ramos and his men touch your family and use them against you like he’s doing me.” Raven said.

Suddenly heard footsteps approaching.

“Ramos is coming! I have to hide, you must claim you don’t know anything no matter what. Your family is safe and in a secured location. So he would be pretty angry that he doesn’t have anything to tame you with. So be strong for your family.” Raven said, her voice whispering.

“I will. You have to go before he sees you.” Carlos said.

Raven nodded, then made her way to the door. She hesitated for a moment, then turned back to Carlos. “Stay safe,” she said, and then slipped out the door, closing it softly behind her.

Carlos listened as her footsteps faded away, and then he turned to face the door, his heart pounding.

He knew that Ramos was on the other side, and that whatever was about to happen would not be good…..
