The Mafia’s Third Wife: Between The Devil’s Triangle

Eavesdropping

Chapter 39 Eavesdropping

“Let’s start by trying to figure out who those men are, and what their role is in all of this.

We need to get more information before we can make a plan. Can you tell me anything about them?”

Raven nodded, trying to regain her composure. “I don’t know much about them, only that they stole some drugs and other items at Ramos warehouse and he was pissed and so he ordered me and some of his men to go and take them down.”

“That’s all we have to go on?” Alfredo said, furrowing his brow. “That’s not much information. How about their location? Did he tell you where they are? Where you can find them?”

Raven thought for a moment. “I think, they are not from around here, probably in the outskirts of town. I don’t know their exact location, but I can try and find it.”

“That’s a start,” Alfredo said, his mind spinning with ideas. “We need to gather as much information as possible before we can make a plan. Let’s start by finding out everything we can about those men and why they risked their life to steal from Ramos.”

“It sounds like they had a reason for stealing from Ramos,” Alfredo said, his mind racing with possibilities.

“Maybe they don’t know anything about him. I mean there as to be a reason why they could risk their lives like that.”

“I don’t know what their motivation is,” Raven said, “but we need to find out. We also need to know more about them and their hideout before Ramos gives the location tomorrow so that we could warn them on time.”

“That won’t really be easy, Raven. But I’d try and let’s hope we do before he sends you on the mission. What time are you heading towards their hideout?” Alfredo asked.

“He wants me to go there in the morning,” Raven said, a note of fear creeping into her voice.

“What if you can’t find the information we need before then? What if we can’t warn them?”

“Hey, hey,” Alfredo said, on the phone.

“We’ll figure this out. We have to. We’ll do whatever it takes to make sure you’re safe and that we can warn those people.

“I have to go now… don’t want them to find out I have a phone stashed in my room that I’m using to communicate with you about all their secrets.

“You stay safe alright. I’d whatever I can to get their location and hopefully be able to stop whatever Ramos plans on time.” Alfredo promised. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

“I’m not going to let anything bad happen to you alright?”

“Thank you Alfredo. It means a lot that I’m not alone in this scary journey.” Raven said

“You’re never alone Raven. I may be far away from where you are, but I’d do whatever I can to keep you and your father safe from Ramos. You have my word.” He said.

“Thank you, Alfredo. That really made me feel a little better.” She said, as she ended the call.

As she lay down on her bed, sleep seemed to be far away from her as she thought about the horrible thing she was going to do the next day if Alfredo fails to find and warn those people on time before they get there.

If he does fail, she would have no choice but to execute the orders Ramos had given her or he would kill her father.

As the night wore on, Raven tossed and turned in her bed, unable to sleep. The thought of what she might have to do the next day was weighing heavily on her mind.

What if she couldn’t do it? What if she couldn’t bring herself to harm those people? And what if it was too late to warn them?

The thought of her father being in danger was unbearable. She closed her eyes and tried to clear her mind, but sleep eluded her.

Finally, as the first rays of light crept through her window, she gave up on sleep and got out of bed.

Raven made her way to the bathroom, turning on the shower and stepping under the hot water. As the water cascaded over her body, she tried to relax, to focus on the present moment and not the future.

But the thoughts kept swirling in her mind, nagging at her. What if, what if, what if?

After showering, she got dressed when she heard a knock on the door.

“Miss Raven, Ramos told me to call you downstairs.” The maid said.

Raven felt a wave of dread wash over her. What did Ramos want with her now? Was it already time?

She hesitated for a moment, before straightening her shoulders and walking out of the room. Whatever it was, she would face it head-on.

She descended the stairs, her heart pounding in her chest. As she approached the living room, she could hear Ramos talking to someone.

“I assure you, my men will be there on time,” he was saying. “There’s no need to worry.”

Raven stopped just outside the door, straining to hear the other person’s voice.

“But what if something goes wrong?” the other person said. “What if your men don’t make it in time?”

“Everything will go according to plan,” Ramos said. “You can trust me. I’ve never failed before, and I won’t start now.”

“I hope you’re right,” the other person said. “A lot is riding on this.”

“Trust me,” Ramos said. “I know what I’m doing.”

There was a pause, and then the other person spoke again. “What about the girl?
