The Mafia’s Third Wife: Between The Devil’s Triangle

Adelina Escobar

Chapter 7 Adelina Escobar

It was her wedding day.

The day that Raven Lockheed would get officially married to Ramos Escobar. It was a marriage forged by manipulation – the life of her father was at stake the day she accepted to be a mafia’s third wife.

Raven knew her life wouldn’t be the same anymore the instant she’d uttered those two-letter words in front of a priest.

Heck, do the marriages of mafias involve a priest? – she was oblivious and wanted to remain that way.

Even the devil could tell how resentful she was about Ramos – he was a man her entire soul, body, and mind loathed passionately, yet she was about to get married to him.

A sigh escaped the lipstick-covered lips of the upcoming bride. Seated in a spacious room that spelled sheer wealth was a wedding gown-wearing Raven.

Her already long glossy dark hair got straightened professionally and then sported into a beautiful bun. Afterward, circular dark diamonds were used to adore it, and even a blind man could validate how breathtaking she looked.

Raven knew how shitty this crap of a wedding would be from the gown Ramos had gotten her – a pitch-black silhouette wedding gown.

Not like she hated or complained about it – if a choice was given to her this instant, she’d ditch everything and run.

But alas, what about her father? Mr. Salvador was and would remain the only flickering light in her world of unending darkness.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

“I do this for you, Dad” Her lips moved rather sexily and without trying, her method of speaking seemed coquettish.

Currently, the bride was alone – she sat on the queen-sized bed, which had a dark duvet spread on.

Now that she paid more attention to the room, its wallpaper, marble tiles, and ceiling were dark. Perhaps her hunch wasn’t wrong – Ramos was a devil because who in their right mind would adore such a color immensely?

From where Raven sat, the sounds of car engines dying down were heard – surely, the guests were arriving.

She inhaled softly then exhaled, and it was crazy how the door to the room creaked open. An averagely beautiful lady in her mid-thirties stepped in.

From a glance, the smell of wealth could be perceived on her body – her outfit, hair, and even composure spoke of sheer money!

She was Adelina Escobar – the first wife of the shitty geezer Raven hated so. The woman had the piercing eyes of a hawk and without even trying, her eyes could intimidate the faint-hearted.

But what about someone who was getting forced into an unwanted marriage? Adelina had nothing on Raven, who equally returned an icy glare to her.

The glamorously designed maxi dress of Adelina swayed sideways as she took steady strides into the room. She halted, retaining a distance between the undeniably gorgeous lady and herself.

“May I help you, ma’am?” Raven’s unbothered tone got Adelina smirking – Ramos wasn’t bluffing when he said she was something.

“Help? Child, which of us needs the help? Me? A successful businesswoman with a child of your age? Or you? The simpleton for a gold digger who easily agreed to marry my husband!” The smirk persisted on her lips, and obviously, it was an angry one.

To Adelina, Raven wasn’t different from the second wife of Ramos – the extravagant and money-spending wench, Lana Escobar.

It pained Adelina to the very core of her soul; she was the first love of Ramos who stood through thick and thin with him, yet he thoughtlessly got married to someone else.

Adelina had every right to be angry, bittered, and mean, but not to others because not everyone could stand bullshit – Raven was one of them.

The unpleasant glare the woman kept sending her way did little or close to no harm to Raven – she doesn’t give a fuck in the first place.

Due to the height of the purely crystallized made heels, Raven’s height matched Adelina’s. Their orbs radiated one common thing; anger.

Adelina was vexed at the thought of Ramos bringing someone else into their marriage and Raven, she was angry at the thought of being here.

Maybe if she could relay that to Adelina, she’d stop glaring murderously at her, then again, Raven was too lazy for such nonsense.

“Ma’am, I’ll advise you strictly on something cause when I get married to this household, you’ll need it”

The sass in her voice was more than enough to provoke a beast, yet Raven simply didn’t care. The little distance between them got closed as she took a step forward.

“You…” Raven’s index finger poked Adelina’s chest lightly, then locked eyes with her – those russet eyes of hers displayed utter seriousness mixed with hate.

“… Should better watch over that geezer’s meals because I won’t and would never give two fucks before poisoning that heartless piece of shit and sending ’em straight to hell where he deserves to be. Okay?”

Her lips stretched into a pretentiously happy smile before she walked off triumphantly, leaving Adelina speechless.

Instantly she stepped out of the room and into the spacious yet aesthetically decorated hallway, Raven released a heavy sigh – one which contained sheer anger.

No one could comprehend her rage, yet that lady had the balls to threaten her? She muttered a few words to calm herself down then glanced at the direction where footsteps were coming from.

Raven ogled at the three women who were dressed attractively in bridal gowns – oh, these were supposed to be her bridesmaids, right?
