The Last Ceo’s Deal

Chapter 30: Tell that to the priest

CHAPTER THIRTY.

Christine?” Mum emerged from the room and I rushed to hug her. Tears fell from her eyes and I wiped it off.

“You’re doing this because of that monster right? Why didn’t you tell me?”

“It came so suddenly Mum, Fanuel doesn’t give a shit about whatever I think or feel, he’s doing this to protect his company.” I sniffed.

“I know all of this baby, I’m just concerned about you! I’m the cause of all this, I brought this upon you you’re paying dearly for what you don’t know. I shouldn’t have married, Christine, he brought pain and ripped you off of your virtue but you still kept quiet.”

Mum broke down into uncontrollable tears and I broke down too.

Webb has done a lot of damage in my life, he has destroyed me and he’s home walking Scot free in God’s nowhere.

“It’s okay mum, the deed has already been done. I can’t let anything happen to the two of you, I can’t stand that and I must do what I must even IF it means marrying him.”

“Oh Christine, I’m so sorry honey” I hugged her and patted her to stop crying.

“Stop it mum, please…where’s Easton?”

“In his room.”

“Fine, I’ll check on him.”

“Christine?”

I turned to look at her.

“If there’s any need to run from Fanuel Hudson, Run!!”

“I will mum.”

Easton was typing something on his laptop when I entered his room, his earmuffs rested beautifully on his neck and he was shirtless.

“You came?” He raised his head up and dropped his laptop.

“Yeah, I’m so sorry.”

“I get it Christine, typical you; you don’t want me to get worried and all the emotional crap you’re about to tell me but you were suffering and going through hell in silence.”

“I couldn’t say anything Easton, I had no choice! Fanuel is being Fanuel, he doesn’t give a fuck about whatever anyone feels, he takes dad deeds and transfer all aggression to me. I was stuck in a dilemma.”

He sighed and cupped my chin.

“I had no idea you were going through all that shit and I deeply apologize, but getting married to him? Christine, have you thought this over?”

“I don’t have a choice until dad is found.”

“Is it a kind of a contract?”

I gasped, it was supposed to be kept a secret…Easton will flare up.

“Don’t even think of lying to me.”

“Yes,” I whisper defeatedly.

“For how long?”

“A year.”

“That’s better.” He said and I raised my brows in surprise.NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.

“Yes it is, you don’t get to stay forever and once the contract is off, you’re free.”

“Yeah, you have a point” I told him half heartedly as I omitted the part of bearing him a child.

My phone chimed and I stood up.

“I have to get to Easton, I’m so sorry but I was given a particular time to spend here.”

“It’s okay.” He pecked me.

“Just stay fine, I will still visit though”

“I will.” I told him and left for my room. I will be meeting Fanuel in a Maldives hotel.

I wonder what his plan is? That guy is so bipolar and can to something worse at any moment.

I’d be wise not to provoke him.

I pick a dress at random and settle for my black high heeled ankle boots.

I’m not trying to impress; far from it. I want to piss him off.

I use a bit of compact powder and foundation then gloss my lips. As a last minute thought, I wear huge dark sunglasses and wrap my hair in a scarf.

There, the reporters can go hang. They have no chance recognizing me.

I leave the room once I’m sure that Cole is downstairs. By the time the reporters realize I was the one in a blue dress and a headscarf, I’m on my way to the Maldives.

It’s a huge restaurant.

Someone taps me on the shoulder. I turn hastily and it’s Cole. I thought he had already left!

“This way ma’am.” He says while showing the way to three dark cars parked right next to the entrance.

A chauffeur rushes to open the back door of the middle car and I murmur a ‘thank you’ as I climb in.

I’m surprised that Fanuel is not inside but it’s cool really; at least I have more time to calm down. I don’t want to land my ass in jail for killing him.

I rest my head on the backrest as the cars cruise down the highway. I have no idea where we are headed but it doesn’t matter really.

The car eventually pulls up and one of those annoying drivers is already opening my door.

We are at Fanuel’s official place; I haven’t been here before so I’m taken by surprise.

A lady is waiting by the door and she gives me a tiny smile before leading the way.

I follow her down a corridor on the first floor to a closed door.

“Mr Fanuel is waiting for you. Just go in.”

She gives me that creepy smile again and I nod.

The door swings open and I take a deep breath then step inside.

Fanuel looks up from the laptop on his lap and his gaze goes up and down my body. I want to snap something rude but some rebellious part of me is happy to see him.

“Christine….” He says while standing up. He places the computer on the nightstand and moves towards me. His gaze is dark and he looks dangerous if anything.

His hair is wet and tousled and I bet he just stepped out of the shower.

I let out a small gasp when he wraps his warm hand around my wrist and I sure as hell don’t like the tingles that go through me at the slight touch.

“What is wrong with you!” I snap as soon as my senses are back and he cocks an eyebrow like he has no idea what on earth I’m talking about.

“I’m hungry. We’ll talk after dinner. Thank God you’re alive.” He is giving me a bored look and I roll my eyes inwardly.

“I’m not hungry.”

“Well, I am. Come on.”

He tugs my wrist and I curse.

“Just let me go dammit! I don’t want your food.”

“Stop sulking, you don’t have to eat. Just keep me company. And you don’t give me orders too”

“And if I don’t want to?”

“I wasn’t asking.”

“So it’s an order?”

“More or less.”

“You’re unbelievable Fanuel!”

“I don’t appreciate my wife going against my wishes.”

“Don’t call me that.”

“It’s a fact. The whole world already knows.”

“All thanks to you.”

“You wanted to be difficult and I did the only thing that could convince you.”

I manage to free my wrist from his grasp and I take a step away from him, crossing my arms over my chest.

” Why are you doing this?”

His dark gaze is on me the entire time.

“Is that even a question? My company is at stake!!”

I shake my head in confusion.

“You can always get another girl, and what’s with the rush.”

“Nothing, maybe I can’t wait to control you as mine and flaunt it around your brother. We’re stuck with the marriage thing then. It’s Wednesday around noon. I already got a planner and the venue is ready. Invitations are being issued tomorrow I guess….”

I hold my hands over my ears. If he doesn’t stop, then I’m going to scream.

“Shut the hell up!” I yell and he raises that damn eyebrow yet again.

“What do you want Christine? Do you have any idea just how many women are willing to get pregnant for me and be in your position right now? I’m trying so hard to be calm but you’re riling me up, don’t let me hit you!!”

“One of the reasons I don’t want to get married to you, you’re so irresponsible”

“Tell that to the priest next tomorrow.”
