The Kiss that Sparked it All

Chapter 2821

Chapter 2821

“Lucy, get me the person in charge of the Golden Hotel, quick.”

Lucy swiftly got to work without so much as a word, her fingers flying over the keyboard to track down the manager of the Golden Hotel. In no time, she sent a string of digits to his cell.

“It’s me. I need something from you. I need you to pull up surveillance from all your hotels. I’m looking for someone.”

A chuckle came through the line. “Mr. Harris, don’t tell me you’re playing hide and seek with your wife?”

“I’m not in the mood for games. If anything happens to her on your property, it’s on you.”

Nolan’s voice held an edge that sobered up the man on the other end instantly. “Geez, what’s got into you?”

As commands to check the security feeds echoed in the background, Nolan continued, “Focus on the areas around The Harris Group and Moon Cove. Start there.”

Grabbing his car keys, Nolan left the company offices with urgency.

Meanwhile, Regina had slipped into unconsciousness.

Unbeknownst to her, in her vulnerable state, she had been dragged into room 414.

The woman in the room wore oversized sunglasses that almost masked half her face. Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

“The money’s been transferred to you. You know what to do, right?”

Her counterpart, a smug thug, grinned. “Piece of cake. The missus will be pleased.”

The counterpart had never seen such a hefty fee before, and having seen the photo of the woman in question, he could hardly believe his luck.

“Just get it done and get out.”

“Sure. If you ever need anything else, you know you can call me directly. I’m always available, no charge.” His chuckle and the appreciative gaze he cast over her well-maintained figure unnerved Imogen. It brought back memories of a time when she endured much worse in a rundown alley.

But Imogen was no longer the woman who would swallow her pride.

“You’d best keep your distance. Squashing you would be easier than stepping on an ant.” Imogen’s casual smile sent a chill down the thug’s spine, snapping him back to reality.

He apologized, having momentarily forgotten who she was and who stood behind her.

The gulf between their statuses was vast, and he cursed his own foolishness for speaking so carelessly.

“Just do your job.” She glanced at the diamond-studded watch on her wrist. “Now, off you go to 414. The drug should be taking effect soon. Be quick and clean, and don’t forget the photos.”

He nodded frantically. “You got it, missus. Leave it to me.’

Once he was gone, Imogen allowed herself a triumphant smile. “Oh, Regina. You’ve had your share of glory. Never thought you’d fall into my hands, did you? If you won’t let go of the past, don’t blame me for playing dirty. I can’t wait to see if your father will still trust you after seeing what you’ve done to yourself.”
