Chapter 2615

As Balfour

our was about to leave, Victoria suddenly grabbed his wrist. “They took our phones, how am I supposed to know how long two minutes is? Don’t worry about me, I’m not that tired. Let’s keep moving. My father has already chosen to distract the kidnappers. We can’t let his sacrifice be in vain.”

Tears trickled down Victoria’s cheeks, sinking into the earth, vanishing just as quickly as they had appeared.

“Alright.”

With a firm tug, Balfour hoisted Victoria to her feet. Her legs felt as heavy as lead, each step an immense effort. Her chest pained her like an old bellows, each breath stinging.

her throat.

“Adjust your breathing. Don’t keep your mouth open; the wind rushing out will only make it Worse”

Victoria followed Balfour’s lead, gradually easing her discomfort, while Balfour listened intently for any sign of pursuit. A car horn in the distance could spell trouble for Elton.

At that moment, all he could do was pray.

Finally, the police pinpointed Jaxon and his cohorts’ hideout. As soon as the location was confirmed, the entire force poured out.

Dean and Alyssa insisted on joining the front lines. Captain Aidan was hesitant at first, but relenting under their worried gazes, he eventually agreed.

Mara tried to stop them, demanding to come along as well.

Her teacher attempted to hold her back. “Silly child, the adults are off to rescue your siste and father. What would you do there?” Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Mara broke free from her grasp. “I have to go. I can’t stand waiting here, sick with worry. I need to know how they are.”

Her tears were heartfelt, and ultimately, Alyssa nodded. “Let the child ride with us. We’ll make sure she stays in the car.”

With lives at stake, there was no time for debate. Everyone was loaded into vehicles, geared up, and they advanced towards the village.

Elton could sense the frantic rush of people searching for him.

“Where the heck could they have gone? Three grown people don’t just vanish into thin air. I woke up when I heard the gate, how could they have gotten away?”

He scratched his head, puzzled, as were the others. Even if they had been deep sleepers, they should’ve heard something. But despite their pursuit, they couldn’t find a single trace. It seemed impossible.

Had they just disappeared into thin air?

Jaxon didn’t get in Monkey’s car; he lingered in the vicinity of the yard.

“Boss, what do we do now? If they’ve run off, the money’s as good as gone. We finally had a big score, do we have to do another job?”

Having tasted success, they were reluctant to let go but doing another job when they should’ve been able to retire was equally unappealing.

Jaxon shook his head. “Don’t panic, give me a moment to think.”

The stench from the dumpster was overpowering. Elton covered his nose and mouth, even his breathing slowed, but he could still hear his own heartbeat, pounding furiously as if it were about to leap out of his throat.
