The Kiss that Sparked it All

Chapter 2505

Chapter 2505

“Think about it, have you done anything lately that might have really ticked Balfour off? What if Ivy had

done such a thing?”

“He has zero tolerance for any wrongdoing, and he would definitely take a serious disliking to her.”

Mara’s face lit up with a sudden realization, and a smile crept across her lips. “Looks like you’re pretty

sharp, aren’t you? Since you’ve got an idea brewing, how about you hammer out the details for me?”

Mara gave Olivia a pat on the shoulder. “I want an answer by tomorrow.”

With that, she stood up and returned to her room, leaving Olivia behind to call out helplessly, “Hey,

these things can’t be rushed, you know.”

But Mara wasn’t about to wait around. The sight of Ivy cozying up to Balfour was more than she could

stomach for another day.

Instead of waiting for them to drift apart naturally, it was better to make Balfour gradually grow tired of

Ivy.

One thing Olivia was spot on about was that men are creatures of sight; their interest often wanes with

time.

The budding romance between Ivy and Balfour was going strong, much to the delight of Alyssa.

With her 80th birthday bash just around the corner, she was keen on having Ivy and Balfour attend her

birthday party together.

It would be the perfect opportunity to introduce Ivy as the legitimate granddaughter-in- of the Howard Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

family.

This way, Ivy could stand tall in social circles and not be easily pushed around by anyor

Alyssa’s birthday party was scheduled before Ivy’s fan meeting.

Given her standing in society, the guest list for the well-wishers was endless.

Ivy, attending such a grand event for the first time, was quite out of her element. Before the big day,

she had Balfour take her out to pick a gift.

She left her own gown selection entirely in Balfour’s hands. After all, having shared so many nights

together, he knew her measurements by heart.

But picking the perfect present for Alyssa had Ivy tied up in knots for days.

Come nightfall, as she lay tossing and turning on Balfour’s chest, sleep eluded her.

Balfour had no choice but to wrap his arms around her firmly, pinning her in place.

“Alright, what’s eating you? You’ve been rolling around for the last twenty minutes. You’ve got training

tomorrow, and you’re going to be dead on your feet if you don’t get some sleep.”

Every time Ivy struggled to fall asleep, Balfour would use her training the next day as leverage.

Despite his certainty of Ivy’s commitment to her fans, the sight of her so exhausted always made him

consider telling her to take it easy.

Pinned down, Ivy asked, “What do you think I should get Grandma for her birthday?”

Her eyes were wide and alert, clearly showing no signs of sleepiness. Balfour kissed her forehead

softly.

“Don’t worry, Grandma’s going to love whatever you give her.”

Despite his reassurances, Ivy still thought she should pick something special.

This wasn’t just a family dinner; it was an event where most of the elite families from their circle would

be present.

With so many eyes watching, it would be embarrassing to present something trivial.

After all, Alyssa had always been so affectionate towards her, and Ivy didn’t want to offer a flimsy gift

that would seem insincere.

“I told you I’d take care of it, but you had to be stubborn. Now you’re stressed, aren’t you?”

Balfour’s deep voice was right next to her ear, his breath warm on her skin. She instinctively pulled

away a little and, hearing his words, couldn’t help but shoot him a look.
