The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 218

"The meeting is set for 10:00 a.m. at Stardust Hotel."

After giving her the address, the man ended the call. Rachel glanced at her phone and realized i I was already 9:00 a.m. With only an hour left, she had to leave right away.

...

On the top floor of Stardust Hotel, Sheldon was in a private room, quietly sipping his coffee.

Robert Galloway, the secretary-general of the Pharmaceutical Association, walked up. "The strongest players in the medical industry are waiting in the private room, Mr. Smith. Why don't you have a word with them?" Sheldon nodded and followed Robert into the private room next door. Everyone here was a wealthy businessman in the pharmaceutical industry of Lambda City.

He sported a smile and said, "Do you know the key difference between traditional medicine and modern medicine?"

Someone stood up and chimed in, "Modern medicine is all about science, whereas traditional medicine is just superstition."

A man with white hair stood up. "Traditional medicine is about to fade into history, while modern medicine is at its height. Almost the entire population chooses modern medicine."

Everyone had something to say, but most of the comments criticized traditional medicine and commended modern medicine.

When everyone quieted down, Sheldon stood up. "You're all wrong. I'll tell you the biggest difference. We're all in the pharmaceutical business, so let's skip the nonsense.

"Clearly, both traditional medicine and modern medicine are effective, and they both treat illnesses. But traditional medicine depends on the doctor. The key component is the doctor's diagnosis.

"In the course of treatment, the profit goes to the farmers growing the herbs and the traditional medicine practitioners, leaving no profit for others.

"On the other hand, modern medicine is built on statistical data and various drugs. Whether we invest in hospitals, build pharmaceutical factories, or run pharmacy chain stores, we'll profit no matter what.

"If we want to make serious money, we need to eliminate traditional medicine and build our wealth on modern medicine."

Everyone grinned and echoed his sentiment. "Your words are spot on, Mr. Smith. We'll do as you say."

Sheldon nodded. "Since that's the case, let's band together and eradicate traditional medicine in Lambda City."

...

A car pulled up in front of Stardust

Hotel. Matthew stepped out of the car with Rachel. Her lovely face was filled with worry, and her legsfelt like jelly when she walked.

Matthew flashed a smile and asked, "Why? Are you scared?"novelbin

Rachel noticed Matthew was still smiling. "They have everything in place, waiting for us to walk into their trap. Aren't you worried?" Matthew beamed and replied, "We just need to turn the tables on them."

Rachel stayed quiet. It was easier said than done when the Smith family had teamed up with the big shots of the pharmaceutical industry in Lambda City. How could the

Carter family take them down alone?

She had an inkling that this was the biggest challenge the Carter family would ever face.

Seeing that Rachel didn't respond, Matthew changed the subject to lighten up the mood. "I need to

discuss something with you, Rachel. Lori wants to see you and have her new mom take her out to play."

BUMS

Rachel wasn't in the mood to talk about this. "If we make it through the crisis now, I'm more than happy to take Lori out to play. I can even entertain you."

Was Rachel serious about it? Matthew was excited. "You said it. If I help you get through this, you'll spend the night with me."

Matthew hadn't been with a woman for three years, and he finally had a chance that day. He couldn't help but notice Rachel's stunning figure, smooth skin, and long legs.

As she walked in front of him, he admired how her hips swayed. The longer he watched, the more excited he became.

Rachel kept walking and spun on her heels to urge Matthew. "Hurry up, will you?"

"Okay," Matthew responded and quickly caught up.

They took the elevator to the top floor and a staff member showed them to the meeting room.

Upon entering, they saw the meeting room was divided into two sections-modern medicine and traditional medicine.

Over on the modern medicine segment, there were many people in designer clothes and luxury watches. All of them looked like big shots in the business world. Meanwhile, only two people sat in the traditional medicine segment. One of them was an old man in his 60s, and the other was a graceful woman in her 30s. Seeing Rachel and Matthew show up, Robert knew their targets had arrived. His smile vanished in an instant as he snapped, "You're late."
