The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 568

Chapter 568

Or, had he misunderstood her relationship with Parker?

"Of course! She was so angry that she almost wanted to leave me there and go alone."

Easton wasn't exaggerating at all.

"Then why didn't you wake me up and drive that woman away?"

Although Derek was secretly rejoiced, he had a headache when he thought that it would be difficult to

explain the thing clearly if she had misunderstood, especially when his relationship with Meredith was

already cold.

"Oh, she's an adult. How can I drive her away? I'm only five years old. I'm not that capable, but..."

Easton thought of what he had just planned. "Dad, in order to avoid the same situation, you can assign

me a few men."

With no one at his disposal, Easton was not very confident in his plan.

Derek thought for a moment. "Why do you need them? Why don't you ask Damian for help?"

"Because if the same thing happens again, I can ask someone to check for me first, right?"

For the Xaviers, finding subordinates for Easton was not a problem, but Derek had been worried that Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

he would take his men to swagger about.

But now hearing his words, Derek agreed after a moment of hesitation, "Okay, I'll send some men over

tomorrow. They'll only listen to your orders."

Easton's spirits rose up at his words. "Call me a few more so I can pick."|

Derek shook his head resignedly. "How about your mother? Where's she now? Is she still angry?"

"She's with grandma now. Dad, are you coming over?"

Derek thought for a moment. "I'll be there in a while. Can you take that guy out later? I don't want him

to mess things up."

Easton immediately understood who Derek was talking about. "I'll ask him to buy KFC with me later.

Call me when you come."

The father and son reached an agreement.

"Boss, where are you going now? Home or..."

Derek sniffed his body, and a mixed smell of alcohol and perfume made him uncomfortable.

If Meredith smelled it, she might think he was to show off on purpose, which would make things worse.

"Go home and leave me there. Then you deal with your things. I'll call the driver later."

Damian nodded. It was his job to pick up Derek, but when thinking about Penelope who was having an

operation, he wished he could have a pair of wings so that he could fly back to her as soon as possible.

"How's she doing now?"

Derek did not forget about Penelope. Professor Lee had come to perform the operation on her. If it

went well, she should be able to see things soon.

"It is unclear yet, but the operation was successful."

Derek nodded. "Tell me if you need any help."

"Yes, boss."

Damian answered. Soon, the car stopped at Derek's manor.

Derek got out of the car in a slight stumble.

Damian helped him in and called the nanny to make sobering tea before leaving.

Derek took a shower to wash off the discordant perfume first and changed his clothes. Then he drank

some tea to clear his mind before calling the driver.

Easton was in the hospital. Calm as he seemed, he was running out of patience while waiting for

Derek.

Meredith sat in front of Amelia's bed in a daze.

Although she said she didn't care about Derek, her heart ached when she saw him being close to

another woman.

Perhaps, she needed to get used to it. And maybe she would if she saw it many more times.

Parker stood outside the ward. From a distance, he could guess from her expression what she was

thinking and why she was in a daze, but he said nothing.

This was the result he wanted the most.

As Parker was standing quietly and watching Meredith, Derek called.

"Easton, I'm downstairs at the hospital. You can move now."

"Okay, I got it."

Easton nodded and walked up to Parker. "uncle Parker, I want to eat KFC."

Parker raised his eyebrows and glanced at Easton.

He knew clearly that if this little brat came to him, he must be planning something.

"Sure."

Parker smiled and took out his phone. "Your mother didn't eat anything tonight. Let's order takeout."

Easton was speechless. Why didn't this man respond as he had expected?

If he wanted to order takeout, he didn't have to turn to Parker.

"No, the takeout food will be cold after it arrives. It won't taste good. I want to eat in the restaurant."

Parker narrowed his eyes. Now, he was sure what Easton was up to.

"You asked me out, because... someone's coming?"

Parker asked casually, but Easton turned vigilant instantly. He didn't know that this reaction had

exposed his trick.

"Derek is here?"

Parker said almost certainly.

Derek was the only person who could make Easton work so hard to distract him.

He didn't expect that man to be quite persistent.

"So what? Are you going to get in the way here?"

Easton saw that his little trick had been seen through, so he stuck his little chest out and stared at

Parker.

"They're divorced. I don't think I'll get in the way."

He irritated Easton by one sentence.

Derek had been awaiting Easton's call for a long time. He could guess what might be going on.

Parker was probably not that easily fooled.

But he also thought that he didn't have to be afraid of Parker, so he got out of the car and went

upstairs.

When he reached the floor, he saw Easton talking to Parker.

"Anyway, I'm here. Don't think about coming between them. There's no place for you, do you

understand?"

Parker looked at him with calmness. "Don't you respect your mother's thoughts? If she doesn't like your

father, will you let them be together to fulfill your own wishes?"

Easton's face darkened. When... When did he have such a thought? Parker said it as if he didn't care

about his mother's feelings at all.

"Parker, don't apply the way you do business to Easton."

Derek walked over, patted Easton on the shoulder, and looked at Parker with a cold expression.
