Chapter 1258
"Oh, right..."
The stewardess appeared troubled, but since Frank said nothing, they had no choice but to pick up the shards around him, putting everything in a bag before giving it to him. "Thank you." Frank thanked them.
The stewardesses were flustered, since they presumed Frank would be angry, only for him to thank them instead.
"Alright, I'm sure Mr. Lawrence has his own considerations, and it won't matter even if it's just shards." Travis quickly tried to make an excuse for Frank, considering the awkwardness. The rock shattered in Frank's hands, after all-that was enough for him to defend himself if Frank pressed the issue.
Still, he had to be considerate for Frank, and he quickly presented the next item in his collection.
On the other hand, Frank was focused completely in his own body, completely uninterested in anything Travis had to show from that point on.
The skies were dark by the time Travis presented everything he had, with Hugh buying a vase of purest jade for 500 million dollars.
The other guests were impressed since that vase could be worth up to a billion, which was why Hugh was immensely pleased with himself.
In contrast, Frank did not make another bid after his five billion dollar rock shattered.
Still, he did point out signs of forgery in another two items, which Travis happily destroyed.
He had more than made up for his misfortunes with Frank's five billion anyway, covering both his losses today and his debt.
As such, he was plenty cheerful and hardly moping, even stopping Frank after the other guests left.
"I can't take blame for what happened, Mr. Lawrence, but I still feel guilty since you've come as a guest only to leave empty-handed."
Pulling him behind the folded screen, Travis passed Frank a palm-sized jade fox sculpture and said, "That's the relic I bought for three billion last week-I only saw the many flaws afterward, but I still think it's good value, worth around a couple hundred million. It's now my gift to you, to let things end on a cheerful note on our first meeting."
The man was certainly a shrewd
businessman. He understood that Frank was given grief and offered a gift in return even if it was flawed.
It was no skin off Travis' back, while Frank would at least have something.
"Hmm...?"
Still, Frank paused after glancing at the jade fox sculpture but quickly hid his reaction.
Accepting the gift right then, he thanked Frank and left.
"Well, what a shame..."
Travis sighed hesitantly as he watched Frank leave-he was certainly eager to befriend Frank but was uncertain after what happened with the red coral crystal.
Did the man really have talent, or did he really just make it up?
Nonetheless, soon after Frank left Jade Dragon, thunder and long-awaited rain arrived.
The red clouds of dusk were also

Travis was certainly left perplexed by the odd weather.

Meanwhile, in distant Southdam, an elderly man in a military uniform paused as if sensing something.
Then, he laughed heartily and gleefully as his elderly valet looked on.
"Brat... You really didn't disappoint! Ahahaha..."
His valet was smiling too, clearly delighted.
