The Fortune-Telling Heiress

Chapter 423

Rebecca clung to Tanya's arm, her voice tinged with grievance. "Mom, what does Jordan mean by that? I was only trying to help Maddie come home so that you'd be happier." Tanya patted her arm soothingly. "It doesn't matter what he means. As long as I know you're a good child, that's good enough."

Jordan drove Madison to a villa by the river. After unlocking the door, he pushed the suitcases inside. "Ms. Madison, this place is private, has a great view, and is close to the city center." Madison nodded. She turned to Yara and Mia, saying, "Go inside. I'll start healing you."

Yara nodded. "Tend to Mia first. Even though she's a ghost child, her soul is still pure."

"Okay."

Madison carried Mia into a room. Inside, she set up an array of runes and placed Mia within it.

Half an hour later, Madison emerged with Mia. Mia bounced out energetically and launched herself at Jordan. "Jordan, you're here!"All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

Jordan caught her and lifted her playfully. "Do you feel unwell anywhere?"

She shook her head. "Nope! Madison is amazing. I don't feel any pain at all now."

Then, Madison took Yara into the room for her turn.

Meanwhile, Wanda was busy organizing their belongings while Jade lounged in a chair, watching Jordan and Mia play together.

After some time, Jordan glanced at Jade and asked, "What about you? Are you hurt?"

Jade lounged seductively on the chair, giving him a coquettish glance. "What's this? Are you worried about me? I'm in so much pain. It hurts here, and it hurts here too." She touched her chest and her thighs.

Jordan pursed his lips. "I shouldn't have asked."

Jade chuckled. "I'm a demon, and they're ghosts. We're different. That formation affects them much more than it affects me."

Jordan's expression turned serious as he looked at Mia again. Her astral body indeed appeared fainter than when he had last seen her.

"What exactly happened? You were doing fine at Ms. Madison's place. How did you get captured?"

Mia tugged on his collar, her sweet, childlike voice growing angry. "It's all Rebecca's fault! She's the one who brought someone to catch us. The monk was super mean. He's nothing like Madison. He even called me and Yara evil spirits, saying we're harmful creatures. He said beings like us should be completely destroyed!"

As she spoke, Mia's tone turned aggrieved. "Me and Yara aren't bad. We've never hurt anyone. Madison said we're pure."

Jordan stroked her head affectionately, his heart aching. "That's right. Ms. Madison said your soul is pure. You've never hurt anyone."

He wondered what kind of an idiot

the monk was that he couldn't tell

that Mia's soul was pure. It was a disgrace for him to be practicing if he couldn't even tell the difference.

Jordan's frustration boiled over just as Madison emerged with Yara.

He stood up abruptly. "Ms. Madison, what are we going to do about this? Are we just letting it go? Rebecca has already stepped all over you, and you're still going to take it?"

He couldn't understand. Madison

was so capable. Why did she endure Rebecca's provocations? If Madison didn't care about making peace with the Looke family anyway, why not just confront them head-on?
