Chapter 37 Mission
Kristen turned around. A tall figure stood in front of Trisha and grabbed Funk’s hand.
Ethan and Xenos stood behind her. Under the light, Kristen’s expression froze.
She silently turned her head around while her heart thumped. Why is Ethan here? Did he recognize me?
Patrick coldly shook off Funk’s hand and said in a clear voice, “Is Mr. Smith intending to fight in my territory?”
“No, no, Mr. Cotton, I’m so sorry. I drank too much!” Xu Feng apologized hurriedly.
“F*ck off!”
Funk took his underlings and rolled away without stopping.
Xenos took a step forward, asking playfully, “Two young misses, are you alright?”
Kristen turned her head away and Trisha said, “It’s all right. Thank you. If it weren’t for you…”
His tone was much gentler than usual. Kristen’s heart was full of questions. “Sister, what’s wrong with you? It’s not like we can’t win. They’re just meddling in other people’s business!”
“Hey, don’t mention it. It’s not safe for you two girls to be here. Why don’t you sit with us? But don’t worry, we are different from those people!”
Kristen had not spoken all the time. She was afraid Trisha would accidentally agree, so she hurriedly lowered her voice and said, “No need. I’m sorry. We still have something to do.”
After that, she grabbed Trisha and turned to leave.
“Alas, Kri…”
Seeing Trisha was about to call out her name, Kristen quickly covered her mouth and pulled her away.
Xenos, who was behind him, looked confused. “No, why did they leave? It’s so strange.”
Ethan looked at the figure that walked out of the door and felt that this figure was very familiar. He frowned slightly and didn’t think too much about it.
At the entrance of the club, Kristen realized that she hadn’t done anything wrong. Why didn’t she dare to face Ethan?
Trisha was confused. “Kristen, what are you doing?”
Trisha didn’t know the relationship between her and Ethan. At the moment, Kristen felt a little guilty, so she smiled and said, “I… those three are bosses of Nangania, the president of the TNK Group, understand? And the director of the Municipal Hospital, the other…”
She didn’t know the other one.
“Anyway, they are not ordinary people. Let’s stay away from them. Let’s go.”
“The other is Patrick Cotton, the manager of the Emper. Group. In addition to the mission, I told you just now, I have another mission in Nangania, which is to get close to him.”
Kristen was speechless.
The corners of her mouth twitched. “That’s why your tone was so gentle just now. Why don’t you turn back now?”
“Bullsh*t!”
Trisha looked Kristen up and down with a scrutinizing gaze.
She then asked unhurriedly, “Do you know them? What’s the relationship between you and them?”
“What are you thinking about? How could a small actor like me know them?”
“Don’t I know you? You were secretive when they came just now, and now you are pulling me away. Don’t you always like handsome guys? Why are you in such a hurry to leave? Didn’t you say that you would not leave until you were drunk tonight?”
Faced with Trisha’s questions, Kristen couldn’t resist and confessed all of them.
Trisha was shocked.
“Miss Oliver has been kept as a lover? No, Kristen, tell me if you’re short of money.”
“Is it about money? It’s about the face,” Kristen replied with a grin.Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
Trisha, “…”
Both of them drove away. Along the way, Kristen removed her makeup as if she had thought of something.
She immediately said, “Oh, right. We agreed that you would bring me along for that mission in a few days.”
“When did you decide?”
“Oh, I’ve been resting at home these past few days. I’m bored. Can you take me out for playing?”
Trisha said seriously, “That’s not for fun.”
“Well done. Don’t you know how good I am at fighting? If you take me with you, our chances of winning will be much higher.”
The Oliver Family used to worry about her safety and let her practice kick-boxing from a very young age. She had met Trisha when she fought with her overseas.
“Alright, I’ll contact you at that time.”
After getting Trisha’s reply, Kristen jumped out of the car happily.
Back at the villa, Kristen changed her clothes, fearing that Ethan would find out and throw them away.
When she finished washing up and walked out of the bathroom, Ethan had just returned.
Kristen paused. She didn’t expect him to be back so soon.
“Still awake?” Ethan asked in a magnetic voice. He walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her waist. The faint smell of alcohol made him frown.
“Did you drink?”
It seemed that Kristen had just come back.
“My friend came from Tornzia today and had two drinks outside.” Kristen knew that she couldn’t hide it anymore.
“Man or woman? Where did they drink?”
Kristen was speechless. “It’s a woman, a pub in the city center.”
“Really?”
Seeing that Ethan didn’t look very happy, Kristen curled her lips and pretended to be angry.
“Didn’t you go drink too? You have someone else’s perfume on you. Stay away from me. Go sleep in another room tonight.”
She pushed Ethan away and turned to leave. In an instant, her wrist was pulled back by someone.
Ethan pressed her against the wall and said in a low, hoarse voice, “Smells good again. How can there be any perfume?”
As soon as he finished speaking, his kiss was sudden, mixed with the clear smell of tobacco. It occupied all of Kristen’s senses and nerves. After an unknown period, Ethan slowly let go of her.
“You…”
Before she could finish her words, she was picked up by the man and thrown onto the soft bed.
The atmosphere in the room gradually became ambiguous…
The next day, Kristen slept until noon. Ethan had already disappeared from the room. He must have gone to the company.
Kristen dragged her exhausted body downstairs for dinner. Just then, the housekeeper, Uncle Lee, walked over.
“Miss Healey, the flower seedlings you ordered me to buy have arrived. The gardener will be here in the afternoon.”
“Okay, thank you, Uncle Lee.”
Over the past few days, Kristen had been bored, so she went to the backyard for a walk. She thought about the outer space behind her, so she planned to plant some flowers.
After the meal, the gardener arrived. She worked together with him until sunset.
“Miss Healey, it’s all done. These roses will blossom next year. It’ll be very beautiful then.”
Kristen paused. “Next year? By then, my contract with Ethan would be over and I probably wouldn’t be here anymore. These roses are considered wasteful…”
A few days later, Kristen, who had been practicing the piano at home all day, finally received the news about Trisha. She hurriedly called Ethan, and after learning that he had a meeting tonight and would not be back until very late, she changed her clothes and went out.
