The Doted Lady Is So Wild

Chapter 145 A Bunch of Flowers

After changing back to their original appearances, they returned to the hall, found a seat, and sat down. After a while, Elvis came in with a bouquet of flowers. With a smile on his face, he walked straight to Kristen.

“Kristen, this is for you.”

Kristen looked up and met his eyes. When she saw the flowers in his hand, she asked in surprise, “Elvis, what are you doing?”

Elvis said, “I think this bunch of flowers is beautiful. That’s all.”

But the flowers couldn’t be given or accepted at will.

Kristen said, “Your flowers can be given to your girlfriend.”

Elvis’s eyes dimmed. He understood what Kristen meant, but he didn’t want to give up.

“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with me giving it to my fiancee.”

Kristen felt helpless. “Elvis, I think you must have misunderstood something.”

“You are my fiancee, aren’t you?”

Kristen choked.

There didn’t seem to be anything wrong with his words.

Trisha, who was standing by the side, took the initiative to help Kristen out. “The flowers are pretty good. I’ll take them.”

As she spoke, she directly took the flowers from Elvis’s hands. Elvis wanted to snatch them, but Kristen quickly said, “Give them to her.”

Only then did Elvis recognize the person in front of him.

“Trisha?”

Trisha chuckled. “Long time no see, bro.”

Trisha and Elvis were classmates in junior high school, and they used to be in the same class. Later, Trisha transferred to another school, and the two of them did not have much interaction. Elvis did not expect Trisha and Kristen had such a good relationship.

“Why are you here?”

Kristen said unnaturally, “I called her over.”

Elvis’s eyes were a little gloomy. He invited Kristen to the concert, but she brought a friend with her. Her refusal was self-evident.

But who was Elvis?

He was extremely thick-skinned.

He didn’t care and just said, “The concert is about to start.”

Kristen said yeah and Elvis sat down next to her. Halfway through, Trisha found an opportunity to sneak out. By the time the concert was over, she was nowhere to be seen.

Elvis asked curiously, “Where’s Trisha?”

Kristen found an excuse, saying, “She has something else to attend to.”

Elvis didn’t think much of it. “Then let’s go.”

When they came out of the concert, they saw that the people following them were still standing at the door, but it seemed that they did not doubt Kristen. Kristen and Elvis swaggered away.

After the concert.

Just as Elvis was about to say something, the phone in Kristen’s pocket rang. She glanced at the screen and saw that it was a call from Ethan. She felt a little guilty, so she answered the phone and said, “Hello?”

“What are you doing?” There were no ripples in the man’s voice, but Kristen inexplicably heard a trace of displeasure.

“Not much.”

Ethan continued, “How was your trip?”

Kristen said guiltily, “I attended a concert with an old friend.”

“An old friend?”

Kristen made a sound of agreement. She and Elvis were old friends, so she didn’t keep it from him.

However, after hearing the words “old friend”, a trace of disappointment flashed across Elvis’s face. It turned out that they were just old friends in her eyes. Even so, Elvis still did not want to let go, and he even wanted to give it a try.

“How’s your recovery going?”

Ethan’s heart had been changed and he was much better than before. Doctor M said that he was recovering well. With the herbs that Patrick had bought from the auction, he believed that he would recover completely in time.

“Don’t worry, I’m fine.”

Kristen was relieved to hear this. However, in the next second, Ethan’s voice rang out again, “I miss you, Kristen.”

Kristen’s ears turned red instantly. It was just an ordinary sentence, but she blushed inexplicably.

“What are you talking about?” Kristen said with embarrassment.

On the other end of the line, Ethan was delighted. “I said, I miss you. I miss the days I spent with you…”

Kristen smiled.

“Oh, I’ll come to see you when I’m done with work.”

“Then how much longer do I have to wait?”

Kristen thought about it and kept him in suspense. “I’ll tell you when the time comes.”

Ethan didn’t delve too deeply into it. He knew that Kristen’s career was still on the rise. After everything that had happened before, it would more or less affect her. So he didn’t force her and just said, “Okay, I’ll wait for you.”

After hanging up the phone, Kristen felt happy and sweet.

Little did she know that Elvis had witnessed all of this. He had never thought that Kristen would have such a gentle side, which was a side that he had never seen before.Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

Inexplicably, he felt jealous.

Which man could get her unreserved heart?

“Kristen,” Elvis called her. Kristen raised her eyes and asked in confusion, “What’s wrong?”

Elvis looked into her eyes.

He said, “Heloise said that you agreed to marry me. Is that true?”

Kristen froze a moment. She had indeed promised Aunt Heloise, so when she faced Ethan, she had treated their days together as the only days left.

She said, “Elvis, I will marry you, but there won’t be love between us.”

Kristen’s words reached Elvis’s ears word by word. It was just a simple sentence, but it made Elvis stunned.

He didn’t expect Kristen to be so straightforward.

So calm.

Was he really able to accept such Kristen?

Even if he couldn’t get her heart,

Elvis still asked himself over and over again. Finally, he got an answer. “Kristen, as long as you are willing to marry me, nothing else matters.”

Kristen did not expect Elvis to make such a concession.

What had she done to deserve such favor from a man?

“Elvis, I want to know why you…”

Before Kristen could finish her words, Elvis interrupted her. “Kristen, don’t think too much. I’m not doing this only for you. I’m the eldest son of the Green Family, and I bear the fate of my family. You are the eldest daughter of the Oliver Family, and marriage is something that the elders of both families are willing to do. For the Green Family, it’s like a tiger with wings. So, this is just the result of my weighing the pros and cons. All of this is just for the family’s interests.”

Elvis didn’t know if he was persuading Kristen or himself.

This could be considered a reluctantly acceptable reason.

Kristen replied, “I see.”
