Chapter 267 I'M Jealous

Chapter 267 I'm Jealous

Ranita looked so cute and adorable that Brendon couldn't help but be drawn to her. He squeezed her hand and said, "You have more money in your hands than I do right now!"

Brendon had a lot of assets under his name, but managing multiple industries required a lot of liquid capital. The cash he could immediately access was barely over 100 million dollars compared to Ranita's $1 billion US dollars. She was practically a billionaire!

This amount of money could last for a lifetime if it were put in the bank.

Ranita smiled with her eyes and mouth curved upwards, truly happy. Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

"Where do you want to go for dinner tonight?" Brendon asked just as Ranita's phone rang. It was Dylan calling.

Brendon became unhappy when he saw this.

He quickly snatched away her phone and said, "Don't answer it!"

"Dylan is my friend; you can't be so domineering and unreasonable," Ranita tried to grab the phone back, leading them into an argument.

When they finally calmed down from their squabble, Ranita found herself lying on top of Brendon with him pressing down on her lower back. The atmosphere between them became ambiguous.

Brendon got very close; his eyes met hers while she felt nervousness creeping up inside her chest as she started breathing heavily out of anxiety.

"I'm sorry..." Ranita tried to pull away but Brendon held onto her tightly while asking bluntly, "Do you like Dylan?"

What? How did they end up talking about this topic?

"I like him as my friend," she replied defensively before adding hastily. "It's just friendly liking! Don't think too much about it."

Upon hearing this response from Ranita, Brendon's face turned cold for a moment before she explained further, "Besides... Eve likes him! I can't interfere between them." Then after pausing briefly, she added thoughtfully, "Actually... I think Dylan likes Eve too... he just doesn't know yet."

Thinking about how foolish Dylan could be sometimes made Brendon smile crookedly without any good intentions behind it.

"He really is a fool!"

"What nonsense are you talking about! He's my friend!" Ranita glared at him.

Brendon snorted, "He's always hovering around you, I don't like it!"

"Are you jealous?" Ranita asked casually.

After asking, she felt a bit uneasy, wondering if her probing was too obvious, feeling a bit contrived.

Brendon cupped her face and rubbed it gently, looking extremely serious. He said, "Yes! He's too good to you, and I'm jealous."

Ranita's heart raced wildly upon hearing those words.

Her eyes grew warm along with feelings inside herself heating up too.

"You..."

"Ranita..." Brendon held her a little tighter, his chin resting on her shoulder as he spoke in a commanding tone. "Remember, you're a married woman now. I'll handle any unwanted attention from other men."

He was being completely unreasonable.

Wasn't he the one attracting unwanted attention?

Ranita pursed her lips, about to say something when Brendon's phone rang.

He glanced at it and hung up.

It was Amiya calling. Ranita looked away, feeling suddenly uneasy. "Don't you want to answer your mother's call? What if she..."

Amiya had been emotionally unstable lately and if things got worse, it would only cause more trouble.

"Ranita... you don't have to worry about Boulderland Mansion anymore or my mother's health," Brendon said firmly. "You've done enough for us all these years."

Ranita felt stunned by his understanding and concern for her well-being.

"I just think you should still call her back," she hesitated before adding, "She is still your mother after all. What if there really is something wrong?"

She wasn't trying to be saintly; she just didn't want Brendon to face unnecessary difficulties because of his family issues.
