Chapter 210 Little Scatterbrain

"Ranita..." Brendon felt uneasy. He wanted to explain, but this time he had to take Shannon back to Kurima and Amiya wanted to talk to him.

Amiya said the Murphy family was asking questions, wondering if Brendon and Shannon were engaged and if they should start preparing for it.

Brendon didn't agree, and Amiya got angry.

Brendon usually tolerated Amiya's behavior, but this time they had a fight.

Amiya had a car accident years ago that left her legs disabled. She couldn't handle such a big emotional blow at once and became obsessed with it. After long-term treatment, she had improved in recent years.

This time when Brendon contradicted her, Amiya immediately went into the hospital.

Brendon still didn't give in.

He hadn't slept much last night and had been busy all day. Brendon was tired now.

"Forget it... it's nothing..." Brendon wanted to tell Ranita that she was important to him. But what good would it do? Ranita kept secrets in her heart while he struggled with Shannon. Speaking out would only make things more complicated between them all. Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

"I'll pack up my things and come over." Even though the answer was clear in her heart already, she still felt like she brought shame upon herself again which made Ranita feel brokenhearted once more.

Brendon stayed two days in Qaesburg for meetings. Meanwhile, Ranita pulled herself together as well as worked hard for two days too.

Fortunately though at last minute they managed to finalize the project.

On the plane ride home, Ranita fell asleep as soon as she sat down. Brenden woke her up, "Ranita, eat something!"

"I want sleep not food."

Steve told her that after getting pregnant, she'd become sleepy with poor appetite so be prepared mentally. Ranita could relate somewhat on having poor appetite, but before being sleepy never happened. She thought maybe it wouldn't happen but these past two days proved otherwise.

Especially during their busiest times, it was no wonder she was exhausted.

"Ranita!" Brenden grabbed her hand, his eyes scanning every inch of her pale face. He looked at how delicate she looked - pale and thin-chinned. Her wrists were even skinny!

"You have some food, you can eat later when we land."

His voice sounded low, making him sound extra gentle. Ranita squinted thinking she might be dreaming again.

"I don't want anything…I just want sleep." She muttered then put his palm against her cheek, rubbing gently while saying "Don't bother me".

Ranita's face was smooth in Brendon's palm.

Brendon glanced at her for a moment before adjusting her position to make her more comfortable, allowing her to sleep next to him.

Ranita slept all the way until the plane landed. The loud engine woke her up, and she opened her eyes to see the man's cold chin.

Her spine tensed up.

Brendon noticed how nervous she looked like a startled deer and teased, "My arm is sore from being your pillow for hours."

In a daze, Ranita had grabbed something in her hand that turned out to be Brendon's arm. She pursed her lips and blushed slightly behind her ears. "I'm sorry. I must have been half asleep."

"You're definitely quite scatterbrained," Brendon said as he handed over a box of sweet milk that an air hostess had given him earlier on the flight.

Brendon was handsome enough that every time he flew on an airplane, he received special attention from air hostesses who provided excellent service.

Thinking about it made Ranita feel angry - this guy was just trying to attract attention!

"The stewardess gave it to you but you gave it to me instead? What if she gets upset?" Ranita raised an eyebrow with sleepy eyes that looked like ink paintings suddenly coming alive with vivid colors.
