Chapter 178 The Brother'S Message

Chapter 178 The Brother's Message

It was 7:28 in the morning now, and Ranita wasn't at home. Where could she be?

"Where are you?" Brendon asked again.

Ranita lost track of time and replied nasally, "Something came up last night so I stayed at a hotel."

A hotel?

Brendon didn't want to speculate, but many thoughts flooded his mind. He asked, "Why did you suddenly stay in a hotel?"

Ranita didn't want to say. "Something came up." She paused before changing the subject, "I'm going back home now to pack my things for the airport. We can fly together if I make it in time. If not, you can fly first."

After hanging up, Ranita looked over only to see Mia fall off the bed while holding on to a blanket.

Brendon also heard this commotion. "What's going on over there?"

"Nothing, I hung up!" Ranita hung up too quickly, and Brendon could only guess that there were other people in her room.

Was this other person the "brother" she mentioned yesterday? Brendon frowned at his phone in thought.

"Mr. Stuart, Miss Bowman ..." Caleb asked nervously. "Would you like to go to Qaesburg first?"

Brendon checked his watch. "Change my flight."

Ranita helped Mia up and patted her face. "Mia, wake up! Wake up!"

Mia looked a bit confused as she looked at Ranita for a while before remembering something and her face turned pale. "I'm sorry, I drank too much last night."

"I didn't mean to trouble you." This was their first conversation after their argument and it was awkward between them.

Ranita nodded lightly. "You're sober now so I'll leave first." NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

"Ranita!" Mia grabbed her hand before she left. "I don't expect you to forgive me but I just want to say sorry..."

Mia's apology was sincere but she didn't regret what she did because of the money involved.

"I have something else to do so I'll leave now," Ranita said with a heavy heart as they used to be partners fighting side by side but now they were falling apart due to this incident.

Ranita couldn't forgive what Mia had done.

"Ranita..."

"We're not friends anymore! This is my final kindness towards you; please don't come bother me again! Oh yeah, please settle the room fee," Ranita said coldly before leaving without looking back.

The sunrise was beautiful but Ranita wasn't in the mood for admiring it as she drove back home alone feeling upset about everything that happened today.

As soon as she opened the door of her apartment, someone pulled her inside with a loud thud against the door behind them.

"Brendon... what are you doing here?" Ranita froze since he should still be at the airport.

Ranita has traveled with him on many business trips.

The first time Brendon left her and flew back to Kurima directly, she was quite heartbroken. But as they went on more trips together, she became immune to it. She no longer expected Brendon to accommodate her time.

"I've been waiting for you!" Brendon leaned closer and whispered into her ear while sniffing around trying not find any strange smells on or around Ranita's body making him feel relieved finally.

"You waited for me? Isn't urgent right now in Qaesburg? You could have gone ahead…" Her ears started itching from his breath causing redness creeping down onto neck area which made him move away slightly from herself.

"I'll go wash my face and pack some things first," she went into bathroom without saying where exactly did she go making Brendon's mood even more anxious than ever before.

Brendon waited for a while, thinking about asking Caleb to bring breakfast over. Suddenly, her phone on the table received a message.

Brendon saw the sender's name - "Brother" - and read the message, "Ranita, I plan to go to Kurima and see you."
