The Divorcee and Her Three Chaotic Children (Olivia Clarke and William)

Chapter 74

Chapter 74

“Gianna, I really hope you’re in the dark about everything. Behave yourself.”

Without another word, William strode out of the banquet hall with his long legs.

As Gianna watched his cold and determined back, she collapsed to the floor, her heart heavy with

despair.

At that moment, Caroline, who had been hiding nearby, came in through the back stage and helped

Gianna up. “Gianna, let’s get up first. We need to think long-term about this mess.”

“Mom, where were you just now? Don’t you know they’ve all been bullying me?”

“Alright, alright, don’t cry. Your dad just called and said there might be a favorable turn for you.”

“A turn? Really?”

Gianna stared at Caroline in disbelief, her face screaming skepticism.

“Would I lie to my own daughter? Come on, let’s go ask your dad.”

Caroline rea**ured her and reached out to help Gianna up.

“Alright. By the way, William seems to be digging into the past. You think he could find out I was

involved? I’m afraid…”

Gianna began to speak nervously, but Caroline quickly cut her off.

“Shut

up, Gianna! This is no place for you to talk nonsense. No matter what, you must insist it has nothing to

do with you, got it? Everyone who knew about that incident is dead and buried. William could be the

sharpest tool in the shed, but he won’t find a thing. What are you afraid of?”

“Mom, are they really all dead? Are you sure?” Gianna was very uneasy.

Gianna couldn’t shake the feeling that William must know something or else he wouldn’t have said

what he did.

“Of course, that person always gets the job done neatly!”

Caroline spoke confidently, but inside, she wasn’t as calm as she appeared. It had been years since

they last touched base, and she secretly thought it was time to reconnect with that old friend.

Olivia slumped on the couch, watching the entertainment news on her computer. She felt like a

bystander with an endless supply of gossip to read.

But…

The more she read, the more things seemed wrong.

Something was wrong!

William, that big jerk, had the audacity to say he’s pursuing her in front of so many reporters?

Where did he get that nerve?

Olivia’s so angry that she was about to call Gideon to demand he remove the bogus reports online, so

she wouldn’t feel so disgusting.

But just as Olivia pulled out her phone, she received Gideon’s call first.

“Miss Clarke, the Kinsman Group just invested 15,000,000 dollars in our company. William wants us to

help him maintain the trending topic! What do you think…”

“What kind of trending topic requires so much effort from Mr. Kinsman?” With the Kinsman family’s

resources, wouldn’t it be a piece of cake for them to buy it up? Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

“It’s the number one real-time trending topic-Mr. Kinsman is pursuing Miss Clarke…”

“… Olivia felt like this was absolutely absurd. It was bad enough that this jerk was going around saying

he was after her, but now he was shamelessly maintaining this trending topic?

What on earth was William up to?

“That’s not all. Mr. Kinsman also requested that the top trending topic must be reserved for at least

three days.”

“He has quite a lot of requirements! Well, tell our deep-pocketed Mr. Kinsman that maintaining the

trending topic is no problem, but the price? Ten times higher!”

“Got it!”

After hanging up the phone, Olivia still felt her blood boiling with anger.

11:040

But soon, a thought bubbled up from the depths of her heart.

What had caused the notoriously cold and aloof people, William Kinsman, to change his characters

overnight?

Wasn’t it just a few days ago that William barged into her house in the middle of the night, saying that

she was up to something?

Olivia didn’t understand.

But Olivia couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.

Last night, William hadn’t shown up when Ezra was cutting the cake, nor had he been with Gianna.

When he arrived at Maple Villas, she had already returned from the Kinsman family’s villa!

So where had he been in the meantime?

Olivia, sensing trouble, hurried over to switch on the computer on the bar counter.

Whatever had lured William away from his precious son’s birthday party had to be a big deal!

Olivia’s slender fingers tapped away at the computer keyboard.

Soon, Olivia pulled up the surveillance footage of the whole city. After using a specialized search tool

Magic Mo mo to quickly scan and compare the images, she pinpointed William’s face among the

countless videos.

Olivia zeroed in on William’s car and swiftly analyzed his movements.

His destination was Goldentop International Villas?

It’s Jameson’s turf.

Hold on, William went to visit Patrick?

Lone Wolf would never have worked with Patrick to fake his death, so even if Patrick hadn’t died, he

was probably injured.

Before, Olivia only asked Reed to investigate all the hospitals in Melburgh but had overlooked

Jameson’s.

The man who owned an entire building of medical labs!

Olivia suddenly had an epiphany and dashed upstairs.

“Ezra, it’s time for you to show off your acting chops as a future Oscar winner!”

Ten minutes later, Ezra, who had been happily spilling the tea and wearing headphones in front of the

computer, was successfully “kidnapped” into the car by Olivia.

“Mom, do you really reckon it’s good for us to pull a fast one on a not-so-bright chatterbox doc?”

Seated in the back row, Ezra peeped through the space between the seats, his chubby face full of

innocent inquiry.

Ezra had dealt with Jameson a few times. Apart from being a chatterbox, the doc seemed friendly,

especially towards him.

“It’s a little bit improper, so you’ll have to put on a solid act. Can’t let anyone see through us.”

“Roger that!”

Nothing’s bigger than Mom in this world.

With the future Oscar winner Ezra here, there’s no one his mom can’t outsmart!

Olivia turned on the GPS, and soon, they were standing outside the lab on the 87th floor of the

Goldentop International Villas.

When Jameson opened the door and saw his visitors, he was utterly flabbergasted. “Miss Clarke, what

brought you here?”

This was his private lab, strictly off-limits to visitors. No one, except for William, had ever waltzed in

unannounced,

So, upon seeing Olivia, Jameson was genuinely taken aback!

“Sorry to disturb you. The little bloke kept complaining about a headache and insisted on seeing Uncle

Smith, so I followed the address. Hope we aren’t disturbing you, Doctor Smith”

As Olivia explained, she turned around to pick up Ezra, who was standing behind her, who was

brewing with emotions.

Ezra’s face was flushed as he looked up at Jameson and weakly said, “Uncle Smith, my head’s killing

me. Can I have a hug…”

Initially baffled, Jameson’s guard immediately dropped when he saw Ezra’s red face. He promptly

scooped him up and

walked into the lab.

“Luci? Are you feeling under the weather? Let me have a look!”

11:04

Ezra nodded and then rested his head on Jameson’s shoulder, falling silent.

Jameson hurriedly carried him further into the lab, completely oblivious to the victorious smirk Ezra shot

at Olivia. Olivia, watching the triumphant Ezra with an amused smile, followed them and boldly walked

into Jameson’s lab.
