Chapter 127
Chapter 127
“Dig up the entire city if you have to, but find this person within an hour!” William commanded.
“Yes, Mr. Kinsman!”
Marshall recognized the urgency in William’s face, and without hesitation, he was off to make
arrangements.
William’s hands trembled as he stared at the screenshot on his tablet. Panic welled within him,
threatening to consume him entirely.
This was all his fault. He knew there were hitmen out there targeting Olivia, yet he chose now to be
stubborn and cross
with her.
What if something happened to her? How would he cope?
He didn’t think he could bear to lose her again!
“Daddy, what’s wrong? Is something up with mommy?” Ezra asked, sensing something amiss. He
scrambled out of the car, his plump little hand grabbing William’s, worry in his eyes.
“Ezra, Daddy seems to have messed up something big…”
“Is mommy missing?”
Ezra’s voice trembled as he put the pieces together, a terrible suspicion forming in his mind.
Daddy said that he would take him to find Olivia, but when he arrived at the place, Mommy was not
there. There was only a car abandoned on the side of the road.
No matter how he looked at it, it didn’t seem to be all right.
Bending down to embrace Ezra, William rea**ured, “Don’t worry, Ezra. Daddy will find Mommy. You
trust Daddy, don’t you?”
Like a guilty child seeking affirmation, William’s voice quivered with the question.
Ezra leaned on his shoulder and could even feel his body trembling.
“Okay, I trust you!” Ezra patted William’s back and nodded with earnest conviction.
Although he was desperately worried about his mother, he couldn’t help but feel for his seemingly
helpless daddy.
He decided to support him for now, all the while scheming in his mind about how to find mommy as fast
as possible.
William felt the rea**urance from Ezra and managed to compose himself. Just as he was gearing up to
continue the search for Olivia, a notification on his phone interrupted him.
He unlocked the phone and found two new videos in his inbox.
He handed Ezra over to Jameson and clicked on the video link, feeling a surge of rage as he saw
Olivia locked in cold
storage.
He clenched his phone so tightly that he almost broke it.
With a herculean effort to suppress his fury, he dialed the accompanying phone number.
It connected quickly.
“Long time no see, Mr. Kinsman. Miss me?” the voice of Lone Wolf oozed with excitement from the
other end.
“Lone Wolf.” When William saw the encrypted phone number, he had a hunch that the one who
kidnapped Olivia was Lone Wolf. He did not expect that Lone Wolf would come in person. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
“You should know that if anything happens to Olivia, you’ll never leave Melburgh alive.”
William tightened his grip on the phone subconsciously, his voice dripping with ice.
“Mr. Kinsman, don’t be angry! The lady won’t die within six hours, don’t get all wound up,” Lone Wolf
taunted.
“What do you want?”
“What I want, will you give it, Mr. Kinsman?”
“If you live to take it.”
“Hey, we’re old friends! Why so serious? If I get scared and lose control of the wheel, what will happen
to the person in the car?”
10:40
“Really? If anything happens to her, you and your brother in the lab will be in grave danger too. Let’s
quit the games and talk straight,” William snapped, his voice laced with the intent to kill.
He immediately sent a text to Marshall by another phone.
What Lone Wolf had said just now had given him an important piece of information. It was very likely
that Olivia was in a moving cold storage truck.
He had to find her quickly.
Lone Wolf said, “Since you insist, Mr. Kinsman, I want all the shares of the Kinsman Group.”
“Oh? I thought you’d want your brother’s life more.”
William wasn’t taken aback by the demands made on him.
For Lone Wolf, kidnapping Titus from Goldentop International Villas was like taking candy from a baby.
He knew there must be something bigger at play.
“You and I both know, he’s not long for this world,” Lone Wolf said, his voice turning icy cold.
“Ha! Cold as ice, aren’t you? World’s top killer, indeed. I wonder who’s paid you enough to disregard
even your brother’s life and go after my shares?”
“You don’t have to try to get information out of me, Mr. Kinsman. I’m all business. Do you want power or
Olivia? Make up your mind, will you?”
“Olivia, but I want to look you in the eyes when we make the deal. Try any funny business, and I won’t
hesitate to make Titus take a leap of faith.”
“Romantic sentiments from Mr. Kinsman? I’m surprised. Be ready with the transfer agreement in an
hour, and I’ll send you
the address.”
“Fine, but first, you’ve got a little errand to run for me.”
Trapped in the cold storage, Olivia was fumbling with a plain ring on her almost-numb fingers.
Inside the ring lay a diamond, smaller than a dime. She was trying to get it out, but her fingers weren’t
cooperating.
Olivia blew on her numb hands and tried again. As she was about to succeed, the vehicle lurched,
throwing her against the icy wall.
Fortunately, Olivia managed to protect her head with her stiff arms in time, so she was not injured.
She paused for a moment, leaning against the wall, waiting for the car to steady before continuing her
delicate task.
But as soon as she picked up the ring in the dim light of the car, the car swerved again.
Moreover, this time, Olivia could feel the car shake violently. She held onto the side for what felt like an
eternity before regaining her balance.
But before she could steady herself, another shake threw her off.
This finally made Olivia realize that this was no ordinary car ride.
If her gut was right, they had company tailing them.
It seemed like Gideon caught on to her little breadcrumb trail.
Boosted by this realization, Olivia huddled close to the vehicle’s body, trying to regain some warmth
and flexibility in her fingers. Then, harnessing the car’s momentum, she finally managed to pry out the
diamond.
The tiny gem dropped onto the car’s icy floor. Scooping it up, Olivia slid it into the ring’s outer groove
and pressed hard.
With a click, the concealed mechanism sprang to life. She wore the ring, its back pressed firmly against
the truck’s door.
Embedded inside was a small magnet, a little gadget fine-tuned by Gideon in his lab. Attach it to iron,
and its magnetism amplifies a hundredfold.
It was a powerful tool specially developed by Gideon. Olivia knew it was the perfect tool for this iron-
walled vehicle, but she didn’t expect it to come in handy at this time.
Though the truck was cold on the inside, its shell was all iron
–
a perfect canvas for the magnet’s force.
Olivia stuck it on the truck’s rear door, essentially transforming the entire door into a giant magnet.
Soon enough, the shrill sound of brakes filled her ears, followed by the unmistakable crash of metal on
metal.
