Chapter 1889
Ralph would be happy to be Carrie's most trusted friend. Besides, looking after her was also a source of happiness for him. Yasmin followed them quietly.
She remembered Ryan's ashen face when he left. Something bad must have happened, and she was extremely anxious.
Ralph recalled how Carrie had stopped to look at a display of plush toys in a store window when they first arrived. Worried that carrying too many items would be inconvenient while they played, he decided to buy one for her as they left.
Now, standing at the store entrance, he saw the plush toys still on display.
Ralph's eyes lit up. "Carrie, wait here for a moment. I'll be right back."
"Okay." Carrie nodded sweetly, her beautiful eyes sparkling.
Ralph quickly turned and headed toward the store.
But after a few steps, he remembered that Carrie had social anxiety and might feel uncomfortable alone. So, he abandoned the idea of surprising her. Instead, he decided to bring her along and see if she liked anything else. After all, they would not come here often, and he wanted to spoil her a bit.
However, when he turned back, Carrie was gone!Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
"Carrie?!" His heart pounded with panic as he called her name repeatedly, but there was no response.
It had only been a few seconds. Just a few seconds!
A 22-year-old, perfectly healthy, lively young woman had vanished from the busy store entrance without a trace.
There had not been a single cry for help or any signs of a struggle.
Ralph's face was drained of color. He plunged into the crowd, his eyes red with desperation as he searched for her delicate figure among the sea of strangers.
But she was nowhere to be seen.
He could only see unfamiliar faces that filled him with dread. Just as he was about to pull out his phone, he received a call.
"Mr. Ralph! It's Yasmin. I've been following you saw two men in black knockout Ms. Carrie and take her away. They moved fast and seemed professional! I'm following them toward the park's north-side where there's an abandoned gate. They might be trying to escape through there! Hurry and catch up!"
"Got it!" Ralph's veins bulged with tension as he sprinted north.
The north side of the amusement park was a forested area still under construction and development.
The path was completely dark, without a single street light.
Ralph quickly caught up to Yasmin. His experience as a detective honed his tracking skills, and he pursued the trail with determination. Soon, he glimpsed the two men carrying Carrie, running toward the north gate.
"Police! Stop right there! Put her down!" Ralph roared, his voice echoing through the forest.
The word "police" had some deterrent effect. Upon hearing that, the two men paused momentarily.
But in the next second, they started running even faster.
"Damn it!"

It was obvious they had strong backing.
"You're a cop. Firing your gun will probably cause you a lot of trouble! We can catch up with them!"
Before Yasmin could even finish her sentence, a dark figure appeared in front of them. He emanated a chilling aura.
Despite being alone, the figure stood like an insurmountable, icy mountain, blocking their path.
