The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge

Chapter 1885

Chapter 1885

This seemingly extremely wealthy young lady never even dared to dream of going on a roller coaster in the past 22 years of her life.

Carrie was born to be soaring in the sky like a bird, but her wings were bound, and her family had kept her in a golden cage.

Was it just because of her illness? To prevent her from bringing shame to the family?

Ralph's breath hitched, and he subconsciously raised his hand to stroke her soft hair.

Carrie's heart tightened, instinctively flinching back.

Such intimate gestures would happen between Ryan and her every day back then, but when it was someone else touching her, even if it was someone she trusted, that feeling of panic and discomfort still appeared in her eyes.

Ralph was taken aback, then he smiled bitterly.Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

Carrie was still not ready to accept another man's affection. Perhaps it would take a long time. Or perhaps it would never happen.

Since it was almost time, the two walked toward the dolphin exhibit to watch the show.

Just as they reached the entrance, someone in the crowd suddenly pointed at Carrie. "Look, isn't that girl the mentally ill daughter from the Salvador family?"

"Hey... You might be right! She looks so much better in person!"

"So what if she's pretty? She's mentally unstable!"

"Is that true? She seems pretty normal to me. Who is the handsome guy beside her? Her boyfriend? He's so handsome!"

Hearing the crowd's whispers, Carrie felt her heart pounding. She hugged her teddy tightly, and her eyes widened with helplessness.

The next second, her trembling body was instantly pulled into a warm and strong embrace. The man's muscular arms protected her.

"Don't be afraid, Carrie. I'm here." Ralph's low voice gave her a sense of security.

Carrie's mind was blank. "Ralph, I don't want to watch the show anymore. Let's go..."

"Okay."

Ralph respected her wishes and quickly led her out of the dolphin exhibit.

After leaving the gossiping crowd, Carrie's pale face became slightly relaxed, but her mood was far from the joy and excitement when they first arrived.

"Ralph, let's go back." Her lowered eyelashes fluttered lightly. "I've had a fun and satisfying day."

"Carrie, don't care about what they say."

Ralph knelt on one knee in front of her, looking up into her eyes with a deep gaze. "You must always remember that everyone lives for themselves, not to please others. No matter how amazing or outstanding you are, there will still be someone who dislikes you and mocks you.

"You must walk under the sun with a straight back. The more they try to bring you down, the more you

should live a beautiful life without caring about their opinions. That's the best way to fight back."

Carrie's eyes lit up when she heard his words.

"Think about Bella. She's perfect enough, but she still has to face so many criticisms and endure countless insults and slanders. But she doesn't care. Quoting her words, she wanted those people who wished the worst for her to fail in provoking or defeating her. There's no greater revenge than seeing their twisted faces of jealousy and resentment, yet they are unable to do anything."

Carrie lowered her head in self-doubt. "But I'm not as brave as Annie."

"Carrie, you are brave."

Ralph replied word by word with an intense gaze. "Every step you've taken and every choice you made is something others would never dare to do. You are far braver than I imagined."

His genuine and powerful words warmed her heart, and the sorrow she felt gradually dissipated.

At that moment, the amusement park's mascot team appeared.
