Chapter 1883
Chapter 1883
"I know you still dislike Anna and are prejudiced against her! But there's one thing I'm sure of. Everything my granddaughter-in-law does is for the good of this family and for the people she cares about!"
Nigel huffed and pointed at him, "If you speak ill of Anna again, I won't welcome you at Crescent Bay anymore!"
Gregory was about to retort, but Bella and Justin walked in at this moment, holding hands.
They must have heard everything just now.
Bella had a generous heart and was used to such things, but Justin's cold and intimidating gaze silently fell on Gregory's face, furious.
Gregory gritted his teeth, feeling that he would be embarrassing himself if he stayed any longer. So he snorted and left with Paul.
"Grandpa, what happened?"
Justin quickly walked to Nigel, his gaze darkening. "What's wrong with him again?"
"It's nothing. I drove him away." Nigel glossed over the details.
Bella smiled brightly, showing no signs of taking offense.
"Anna, Madam Mila and Ralph came by and just left. Your brother brought Carrie out to have fun."
At the mention of Ralph, Nigel could not stop his praise. "Your brother is indeed a decent man! I like him so much! I even want to take him as my god-grandson and give Justin a good brother!"
"Grandpa, you don't need to do that. Ralph and Justin are already close." Bella smiled, immediately understanding where Gregory's resentment came from.
"Grandpa, Ralph is now my wife's older brother. If you take him as a god-grandson, he'll become my younger brother, as I am older than him. It'd mess things up." Justin's thin lips carried a smile. "It's not suitable."
"Brat, your brain has become quicker since you were with Anna, much more tactful." Nigel grinned and could not help teasing, then sighed. "Seeing the backs of those youngsters reminds me of your grandmother and many memories from our youth."
"Grandpa, do you like the idea of Ralph being with Carrie?" Since they were on this topic, Bella asked tentatively.
"Ralph's feelings for Carrie are indeed genuine. Even my old eyes could see it." Nigel's gaze turned dim." But I feel like when Carrie was with Ralph, there's still something missing in her eyes. Anna, feelings can't be forced. Carrie is a grown woman now. Let her choose who she likes."
It was the weekend. Naturally, the amusement park was flooded with visitors.Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
On the way here, Carrie kept fiddling with the teddy in her arms to ease the awkwardness, while Ralph occasionally glanced at her expression when he drove, mindful of her emotions.
It was not until they entered the park that Carrie spoke softly, breaking the silence.
"Ralph, thank you. And your mother. Really, thank you."
Ralph was most afraid of Carrie thanking him. He scratched his head awkwardly and pointed at a shop
beside them. "Do you want to go in and take a look? I saw everyone wearing hair clips. Do you want to buy some as well?"
Carrie nodded slightly, and the two walked into the shop side by side.
When they came out, Carrie had a brown teddy hairclip on her hair with two little ears sticking up, looking cute and playful.
As for Ralph, he wore a crocodile clip, and it looked like a crocodile biting his head from afar. "Pfft... Ralph, you look so funny!" Carrie covered her mouth, laughing uncontrollably for once.
"As long as you're happy." Ralph's smile gradually stiffened.
Some girls passing by secretly took photos of him, not wanting to miss the rare occurrence when they could see such a handsome and funny man.
Only Ralph was regretting his choices. At this moment, he was praying they would not bump into his colleagues.
Suddenly, his gaze sharpened. He scanned the surroundings.
His instinct as an experienced police officer told him that someone was secretly watching them.
