The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge

Chapter 1855

Ralph's eyes were cold.

Just as he was about to speak, Mila smiled and said, "Oh, then I should ask Mayor Solloway what is going on."

"Mayor Solloway, do you not consider me a member of the Larson family?"

Caught off guard by the family crossfire, Mayor Solloway choked on his drink and coughed uncontrollably in embarrassment.

"Well, what difference does it make whether I am part of the Larson family or not?" Mila looked at Mayor Solloway with an inscrutable gaze. "I came here with my son tonight to represent the Thompson family. Mayor Solloway and Mrs. Solloway, you would not be unwelcoming, would you?"

"Oh, it was our oversight!" Mrs. Solloway immediately stepped in to smooth things over, smiling apologetically. "We thought that since we sent an invitation to Chairman Larson, your family would naturally come together. We did not consider it carefully enough. We will make sure to be more attentive next time!"

Mila's lips curled into a cold smile. "I no longer have any ties to the Larson family. So if there is a next time, please send the invitation to the Thompsons' residence in Hatchbay."

"Mila, that is enough." Alvin stepped closer and said in a low voice, "Do you have to cause a scene with me in front of so many people?"

"Are you worthy of me causing a scene with you?" Mila glanced away and let out a cold laugh. "If it weren't for you coming over to provoke me, I would not bother to waste words on you or even look at you. Alvin, you should know that among the Larsons, the person I hate the most is not the father who expelled me, but you, for repeatedly slandering and defaming Wyatt in front of my father!"

Alvin's lips twitched, and his breath was caught in his throat. The side of his face that she had slapped last time seemed to ache again.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

Under his leadership, the Larson Group had grown stronger and more powerful. Yet no matter how hard he tried, no matter how much he polished his image, Mila still refused to look at him. Wyatt was the only one in her heart, but that man took her for granted.

After a brief interlude, the Solloways'

party proceeded to the living room. It was an event that the Solloway couple had arranged to give Jason

and Carrie a chance to interact.

As the melodious music started, guests found their dance partners and began dancing gracefully in the spacious living room of the villa.

While Mayor Şolloway was

conversing with Gregory, Mila

walked over steadily and smiled faintly. "Mayor Solloway, excuse me, I have something I would like to discuss with you privately. Would you mind?"

Gregory tightened his grip on his glass at Mila's obvious disregard for him.

Fully aware of Mila's influence, Mayor Solloway immediately stood up. "Of course, please follow me to the parlor."

As they turned to leave, Mila glanced

back at Gregory and gave him a mocking smile. Gregory felt like there were sharp claws scratching at his heart.

In the parlor, Mayor Solloway brought out his best tea and asked with a friendly smile, "Madam Mila, what brings you here to see me?"

Mila sipped her tea elegantly. "I heard that your son is getting engaged to Ms. Carrie. Is that right?"

Mayor Solloway replied excitedly. "Yes! We have even set the date. It will be on the fifteenth of next month."

"Yes, it is a good date. It is just a pity that your son and Ms. Carrie are not meant to be."

Mayor Solloway was stunned. "Madam Mila, what do you mean by that?"
