The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge

Chapter 1789

Chapter 1789

"Teddy... My teddy bear..."

In the suffocating darkness, Carrie leaned closely against the cold wall, her body trembling. She curled up with her arms around her knees.

The man had taken her teddy bear. It was as if he had shattered her soul and stripped away her spine.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

Her mind was blank, with cold sweat dripping down her pale, beautiful face.

"Ryan... Where are you? Please come and save me..."

Suddenly, all the lights in the room turned on.

Numerous cold, incandescent beams struck Carrie's pallid face like the harsh glare of an interrogation lamp, further pushing her already fragile mind to the brink.

"Ryan... I'm so scared... Ryan..." Tears streamed incessantly from her tightly shut eyes.

Carrie could not think of anything.

Even the tender, loving moments she had shared with Ryan began to blur, distort, and fade in her memory. Suddenly, a gigantic screen on the wall flickered to life.

Carrie painfully opened her swollen and reddened eyes, tears filling her vision.

She saw the woman on the screen covered in wounds, tightly bound and blindfolded. It was unmistakably Yasmin.

Her mental state shattered completely.

In the Hoffman Group boardroom, the board meeting proceeded as scheduled.

Chairman Logan Hoffman sat at the head of the table. As the leading figure of the Hoffman Group, he led a group of veteran subordinates through countless storms to build the company into what it is today. Within the Hoffman Group, he was the king.

Although Logan had gradually handed over the family business to Ryan, a few seasoned veterans still did not fully respect Ryan and only regarded the old chairman as their leader.

Their concerns went beyond just this reason. They feared Ryan's rise in power would diminish their influence in the company and curtail their opportunities for personal gain.

They knew that promoting Liam would only lead the Hoffman Group into decline, but not everyone cared about the group's long-term prospects. Some were only interested in maximizing their immediate benefits.

This was the primary reason why Liam, despite his incompetence, could rival Ryan.

Taking his time, Logan cleared his throat and surveyed the room with an authoritative gaze.

"Today's meeting is held to announce something I believe everyone is already aware of."

Ryan's sharp brows furrowed slightly. Inexplicable discomfort surged through his chest, making him uneasy.

From the start of the meeting, he had checked his phone every couple of minutes.

He was not sure what was causing his anxiety, but his heart pounded restlessly in his chest.

All eyes were on Ryan.

Sitting directly across from Ryan, Liam stared at him with a gaze as cold and sharp as a winter's shard. His expression brimmed with anger and resentment.

However, a few seconds later, his lips curled into a barely noticeable, sinister smile.

"Now, I announce that my grandson, Ryan, will be the new CEO of the Hoffman Group. He will officially join the board of directors!"

Old Master Hoffman announced it with a commanding voice.

Just as the attendees were about to applaud and congratulate Ryan, Liam suddenly stood up. "I object to this!"

The room fell into a tense silence.
