The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge

Chapter 1643

Quentin walked over to open the door and was shocked to see who knocked.

"Mr. Salvador?"

"Uncle Quentin."

Justin stood at the door, his presence imposing despite his tired face. He was panting, showing that he had just rushed over. "Are Chairman Wyatt and Bella inside? I brought the medicine!" Upon hearing Justin's voice, Bella immediately stood up and went to the door. Her repressed emotions surged in her chest.

"Justin!"

Bella flew into the man's broad embrace, tears of pent-up emotion nearly spilling over.

Justin eagerly opened his strong, trembling arms to hold her, his eyes turning slightly red. "I'm sorry, Bella. I'm sorry it took so long. But it was worth it. I have the medicine with me now."

He quickly freed one hand to reach into his coat and pull out a long, narrow medicine box. "There are six doses in here, more than last time. It should be able to keep Chairman Thompson going for a while, just in case."

Bella took the medicine box, her heart overwhelmed with gratitude, nearly choking up.

Although Justin had not said much, Bella knew how difficult it must have been to obtain the medicine. The cost was a minor problem. However, she feared her man had to compromise his dignity to get his hands on it.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

How could she use it without feeling guilty?

"Thank you, Justin..." Bella clutched the medicine box tightly, her nose tingling with emotion.

"You silly girl. There's no need to say that between us. For you, I'd do anything."

Justin smiled gently and took her hand. "Let's get the medicine to Chairman Thompson."

"Wait!"

Mila hurriedly walked up to them. Her brows knitted tightly. "Thank you for your kindness, Justin. Bella, I think it's better not to give your father this medicine anymore."

"Why is that?" The couple asked in unison.

"Have you not noticed that your father has been increasingly drowsy lately? His spirits are also down, unlike before."

Mila's expression turned grave as

she explained further, "While a stroke is terrifying, we have a clear understanding of how the condition progresses. This medicine may temporarily relieve the symptoms. However, it seems more like it's masking the illness. Besides, we can't predict what side effects he's going to get next! Therefore, I'm suggesting that we stop giving him the medication and observe his condition further."

Justin and Bella exchanged astonished looks.

"No... I can't stop that medicine!"

Wyatt heard Mila's words and vehemently opposed them, sweating profusely as he got out of bed.

But just two steps later, his legs trembled, and he could not support his weight further. Fortunately, Quentin swiftly held and supported him. Something was indeed off!

It was his own body, so he knew his condition better than anyone else.

Wyatt clearly noticed that after

taking the medicine, his physical recovery was rapid, and his energy and strength were even better than before he fell ill. But once the effects wore off, he felt drained of energy, unable even to pick up his fork.

However, he had no choice.

He needed the medicine. Even if it was a desperate measure, he had to alleviate his immediate crisis.

"Bella, Chairman Thompson's condition is not right."

Justin's lips tightened slightly. Then he whispered in Bella's ears, "I think what Aunt Mila said makes sense. We shouldn't let your father have this medication for now."

"If you guys won't give me the

medicine, that's fine... I'll just have to go to the board meeting right now with this stupid body and embarrass myself in front of everyone!" Wyatt's tone turned irritable, almost childish in its frustration.
