Chapter 445
Chapter 445
A subtle frown creased Ronan's forehead.
Emerson was back from Millstone again, the original plan was for Emerson to sign this contract, but
Ronan had a change of heart. More specifically, he changed his mind when he found out that Harold
was going to intern at Empower Operations.
Emerson was now at home, looking after their kid.
Cordelia had her back to Ronan, not yet seeing him, but she felt a little on edge.
Ronan took a seat, and Cordelia gave him a customary nod.
Harold conveniently left the room, and soon after, Peter entered. It was clear that Harold was a keen
observer. He saw Ronan arrive and went to fetch Peter so that Ronan wouldn't have to wait.
Harold had gone to the HR Department. He was discussing his internship plan with the HR
Department.
His internship was in the Business Department, where he would intern for two hours every Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoon. His monthly internship wage was two hundred dollars.
The HR Director then introduced him to the various departments within the company.
Over in the boardroom...
"Mr. Evans, sorry to keep you waiting, is everything okay with the contract?" Peter asked with a smile.
"No problem," Ronan answered.
Lumos Enterprises and Empower Operations ceremoniously signed the contract, worth thirty-five billion
dollars, to develop real estate in Birchwood.
Empower Operations then discussed the execution of the contract and many other issues with Lumos
Enterprises.
Originally, Emerson was going to bring a team, but Ronan declined.
During the meeting, Cordelia noticed how effortlessly Ronan answered all of Empower Operations'
questions. His mind was sharp, and he seemed godlike. He was a one-man army, exuding a magnetic
charm that any woman would find irresistible.
Cordelia found herself fascinated by this version of Ronan in the negotiation room, despite his
character flaws.
She also asked a few questions and addressed some of Ronan's queries. The exchange was very
pleasant. Furthermore, the Business Department of Empower Operations prepared a PowerPoint
presentation detailing the steps and potential issues regarding their future cooperation.
Finally, Peter jokingly said, "Mr. Evans, it seems like you'll be visiting Birchwood quite often."
"Definitely," Ronan replied.
After the meeting, Ronan rose from his seat ready to leave, and Cordelia also exited the boardroom.
Harold just came out of the Business Department, ready to leave with his bag. "Mr. Evans, are you
leaving?" He asked.
"Yes. Want a lift?"
"Sure, thank you, Mr. Evans." Even though Harold considered Ronan like family, he was still very polite
to him.
"You two lovebirds going together?" Ronan casually glanced at Cordelia.
"What?" Cordelia was startled by Ronan's sudden question.
She clenched her hand into a fist, and her heart was pounding. Why was he taunting her with such
words?
"Sure, we'll go together," Harold said.
At that moment, something that looked like a photograph fell out of Harold's bag.
"You dropped something," Cordelia, quick-eyed, noticed the photograph of Samantha. The sight of
Samantha's skin made Cordelia frown slightly.
She didn't know what Samantha was up to, but considering how quickly Samantha gave such a
revealing photo to Harold, Cordelia knew she was up to no good. "You should keep your distance from
her!" Cordelia said, her brow furrowed. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
Harold was packing up. The photo had been in the outermost part of the backpack, and it must have
fallen out because the zipper wasn't fully closed.
Hearing Cordelia's words, Harold chuckled. "Jealous?"
