The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 396

Chapter 396

Olen and Amanda were just in their bedroom.

Olen was tucked away in the corner and tried to avoid meeting Cordelia. Amanda was constantly trying

to convince him that it was better to reconcile with Cordelia.

"But what I've done to her family is not a grudge. It's a sin!" At this moment, Olen was very clear-

headed.

"But you did that when you were not in your right mind. Cordelia will forgive you. Besides, hasn't Ronan

covered it up for you? You need to trust Ronan and not let him down," Amanda said while stroking

Olen's chest. "Shelley is gone now, stop overthinking this, okay?" NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.

Olen sorted out his messy thoughts for a while before he finally stepped out. Seeing Amanda and Olen

come out, Cordelia's hand trembled slightly, but she still called out, "Amanda," and then continued

eating. As for why she didn’t greet Olen, everyone understood, and no one blamed her.

The food that was once delicious suddenly tasted bland to Cordelia. After forcing down a few bites, she

went upstairs. She wanted to change her clothes, but she couldn't find anything. It was as if there was

no trace of her ever living here.

"Are you upset again?" Ronan went upstairs and asked Cordelia.

"Where are my clothes?" She asked Ronan.

"Burnt them."

"Burnt?" Cordelia asked Ronan with a frown.

But Cordelia didn't explode. She had just come back and didn't want to start a fight with Ronan right

away. She could imagine his anger, as she had defiantly gone abroad against his wishes.

"So, what should I wear?" Cordelia asked him.

She was in a rush when she came back and didn't pack many clothes, including the scarf he bought for

her, which she loved. She didn't bring it back and left it in the States.

"You?" Ronan looked her up and down with bad intent. "You look best with nothing on. This time, leave

me a few dozen nude photos."

"Get lost!" Cordelia said.

Ronan sat on the sofa, seemingly feeling aroused by Cordelia's words.

Cordelia didn't share his good mood. She had just seen Olen, and Alana had mentioned "Allison," it all

made Cordelia feel unsettled.

"How long will you stay at home this time?" Ronan asked her.

Ronan knew that with her stubborn character, preventing her from completing her studies was like

killing her, so he didn't bring it up anymore.

"Maybe just a few days, my coursework is really intense," Cordelia said while packing her luggage.

"Don't get too carried away with your studies and forget where your heart belongs," he said.

Cordelia's hand paused. "My life in the States is very simple. I just go back and forth between school

and home. I focus all my attention on studying and barely have any contact with men."

"Will you come back twice a month from now on?" He asked.

"Yes, depending on the situation. If there are exams, I won't be able to come back."

"Aren't you afraid I'll cheat on you?"

Cordelia considered for a moment. "We're divorced. If you find someone more suitable, you can

choose."

Ronan couldn't help but chuckle. Indeed, with her increased knowledge and experience, she seemed

indifferent to relationships.

"Do you know Brooklyn got promoted?"

At this, Cordelia stopped and looked up. "Promoted to what?"

"Project team leader."

Cordelia thought for a moment. "Not a big promotion, and with her current level of education, she won’t

have many options in the future."

"Do you want to have other options?"

"Not sure, I just want to hold my future in my own hands and not drift with the tide."

Ronan originally wanted to use all his power to keep Cordelia by his side. He wanted to tell her that she

didn't need to rely on her education; she could rely on him, and that wouldn’t be a problem at all. But

Cordelia didn't fall for it and easily solved this problem.
