The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 325

Chapter 325

"Where?" Downstairs, in Ronan's car.

He was on the phone with Deanna. His deep and stern voice gave Deanna a start.

"Me? I'm about to go for an advertisement shoot."

"Forget about the ad. I've canceled it for you. From now on, Lumos Enterprises won't cooperate with

your comeback. I'll have the PR Department retract all the articles."

"Ronan?" Deanna thought. Cordelia must have been sweet-talking him and spinning him stories.

Had she lost her children? Why else would Ronan be so angry? Deanna never imagined that Cordelia Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

held such weight in Ronan's heart.

"What have you been saying to her?" Ronan interrogated Deanna.

"I... but I was just stating the facts."

"Facts? Did you deliver them? Do you even have the brains for that?" Ronan questioned rudely.

"I..." Being mocked by Ronan and referred to as dumb, made Deanna feel somewhat humiliated.

"Remember when we used to..."

"Let the past be the past. If you dare do it again, your fate will be much worse than being betrayed by

Samantha." With that, Ronan ended the call.

Deanna tried to call him back, but his line was busy.

He was on the phone with Mr. Robert from the PR Department, instructing him to retract all articles

within five minutes. He ordered to notify all collaborating media outlets to remove all materials related

to Deanna, leaving her vulnerable to attacks.

Originally, he wanted to use Deanna as a target for Samantha to continue attacking, but now... never

mind.

...

After taking her medication, Cordelia felt much calmer. She quietly sat in the living room reading.

Soon, Brooklyn's Messenger arrived. [Cordelia, what have you been whispering in Mr. Evans' ear? He's

canceled Deanna's comeback plan, retracted all articles, pulled all media content, and even canceled

all future events. Given this pace, Deanna's downfall is imminent.]

Cordelia thought, “Was he doing all this for her?” A warm feeling surged in her heart. Her resentment

towards Ronan seemed to dissipate considerably.

In the evening, Janice said, "Mr. Evans, my son is about to take his exams, and the school is holding a

rally that requires parents to attend. My husband is too busy, and my son insists that I go. So, Mr.

Evans, I would like to take three days off. Is that okay?"

"Sure," Ronan replied.

"But who will take care of Cordelia? She needs constant care right now." Janice glanced at Cordelia.

"I'm fine on my own..." Cordelia hadn't finished her sentence when Ronan interrupted, "I will."

"Great, if Mr. Evans is here, I can rest assured," Janice said.

"Aren't you going to work?" Cordelia asked him.

"I can take a day off."

Cordelia couldn't help recalling the time he took care of her during the holidays when their relationship

was rocky. Now, Cordelia still held a grudge against him because of her grandmother's incident.

Janice left early the next day, but not before preparing breakfast for both Cordelia and Ronan.

When Cordelia woke up, she saw Ronan vacuuming the floor, creating quite a racket. His phone rang,

and he turned off the vacuum to answer it.

"Her? Send her out of town, and find her a small advertisement role, just not in Millstone," Ronan said.

Cordelia was finishing her porridge, not quite catching what he was saying, but she figured it must have

been about Deanna, given the mention of acting.

After Cordelia finished her meal, Ronan finished cleaning. "Do you want to go out for a bit?" he asked

Cordelia.

"Sure." Cordelia's eyes lit up.

Tristi, her driver, was usually only called when she had things to do. If she didn't have any errands, she

rarely called on Tristi. For her, doing something like going out for a walk, was simply a waste of time,

hence she never made such requests to Tristi.

Cordelia got into Ronan's car.
