The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 307

Chapter 307

Even though Ronan had a late night, when Cordelia had woken up, he was already gone.

After having her breakfast, Cordelia headed to the office. She spent the entire morning engrossed in

work, sorting out files for Pulse Technologies. She even added the head of Pulse Technologies on

Messenger for any work-related discussions.

Right now, she was busy managing the accounts for The High Society series, a project sponsored by

Pulse Technologies. Cordelia needed to meet her for a meeting.

“Ms. Haselwood, could you possibly come down to my place? I am tied up on the set and can't leave.

Our company has booked a floor in the hotel where The High Society series team is staying. I handle

the accounts there daily.”

Cordelia thought to herself, “This cannot be delayed. I must go.”

“Cordelia, if you're going, I'll go with you. Pulse Technologies is a major project, and I would also like to

meet their head,” Milana offered.

So, Cordelia and Milana hitched a ride with Tristi to the Azure View Hotel, right across from The High

Society set.

Just as they were entering the hallway, Cordelia heard someone speaking outside a room. “Ms.

Samantha, I'm afraid your appearance doesn't fit our series' needs. We have to recast.”

“Why?” Although the voice came from inside the room and Cordelia couldn't see the person, she

immediately recognized Samantha's voice.

“It’s nothing personal. Your image just doesn't match the character,” the other party replied.

Cordelia frowned slightly, thinking to herself, “I’ve just arrived and have already ran into Samantha's

awkward situation. Samantha is quite stubborn. I wonder how she'll hold this against me.”

The CFO of Pulse Technologies was staying in the room next to Samantha's. Once inside, the three

women started discussing accounts. Cordelia didn't dwell on Samantha's issues anymore.

However, as Cordelia and Milana were leaving, they saw Samantha dragging her suitcase out.

Samantha glared at Cordelia, as being seen in such an embarrassing situation by Cordelia was a blow

to her pride.

“Watch your back!” Samantha spat out before leaving.

“Did you upset her?” Milana asked.

“Absolutely not.” Cordelia was equally puzzled about Samantha's behavior. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

They returned to the office and plunged back into work.

Days passed in this manner.

Finally, her days of nursing Ronan ended as he removed his bandages and regained his mobility.

Cordelia was overjoyed, and her face was beaming like a sunflower.

Ronan looked at her with a disapproving gaze. “Are you happy because I have recovered, or because

you're finally relieved of your duties?”

“Of course, it's because you've recovered,” Cordelia answered with a grin.

Their relationship was blossoming. They both knew the children were theirs.

One day, Cordelia received a call from Sienna. “Cordelia, your grandmother has passed away.”

Cordelia knew her grandmother was old, and this day was inevitable. Although she wasn't shocked,

she was deeply affected. Her grandmother was her mother's closest kin. Moreover, the constant loss of

family members over the past year made Cordelia question life's meaning.

“How did my grandmother pass away?” Cordelia asked Sienna.

“Your grandmother...,” Sienna hesitated, “She died in a fire.”

“In a fire?” Cordelia was more perplexed.

How could that be? There were no open flames in her grandmother's room, and her grandmother

wasn't one to play with fire. Although Cordelia wasn't emotionally close to her grandmother, she was

her mother's family.

“Cordelia, will you attend your grandmother's funeral?” Sienna asked.

“I will."
