Mavis was fast asleep at 10:00 pm when her phone rang. She didn’t want to answer but she knew she had to because whoever was calling her phone repeatedly was not going to stop anytime soon.

” Hello?” She answered, sitting up as she removed the blindfold she’d worn to keep light out of her eyes.

” Hello, is this miss Mavis Tremont?” A man with a slightly deep voice asked. She nodded and then realized it wasn’t a video call before she said, ” yes, yes it is. Umm, how may I help you?”

” I heard you want to sell your Estate at an affordable price. I’m interested.” He said and the sleep immediately disappeared from her eyes.

” Oh, that’s great! You’re aware of the price, right? It’s £350000, I hope you’re aware of that”

” Ah.. yes of course and I can send the money right now if you want.” The man said.

” But you haven’t seen the place in person.”

” The pictures alone convinced me. I really want this house, Miss Tremont, please let me pay?” He asked so nicely that she couldn’t believe her ears. Since when do buyers beg to pay for something? Or is she selling the Estate at too much of a cheap price?

” Of course, it’s just that there are some documents you need to sign first-”

” Fine, I’ll be at your house tomorrow morning with the money ready to be sent to your bank,” he said and she silently danced on her bed before she calmed herself down and said, ” I look forward to hearing from you”

” Alright, good night Miss Tremont,” he said and she smiled before she said, ” good night… Mr?”

” Pedro Gonzalez, that’s my name. ” He said and she nodded. ” Alright then, good night Mr. Pedro”

The second he hung up, she was so excited. She wanted to run up to the others and tell them the good news but she decided to be calm. ” Tomorrow morning, I’ll surprise them with the good news,” she said before she lay on the bed and closed her eyes thinking, ” I’ll have enough money to start over and this baby will have the best any child could ever dream of.”

The next day, she was fast asleep when someone barged into her room, yelling her name. ” Mavis! Get out of bed already!” Lisa yelled startling her.

Mavis sat up and scratched her eyes, groaning in displeasure at her sleep being interrupted.

” What the hell Lisa, I’m trying to sleep. You didn’t see me bothering you guys while you all slept did you?”

” But you should be up by now. There’s someone in the living room here to see you. He says his name is Pedro and he wants to buy the house.” Lisa said, shaking Mavis’s body.

“Really? He’s here already? It’s literally 6:30 am in the morning though” Mavis said, getting up from her bed and checking the time on her phone.

” Wait, you knew someone was going to buy the house and you didn’t say anything?” Lisa asked, looking at her sister who was so excited.

” Yeah, I wanted to tell you guys the second he called last night but you were all sleeping so I said I’d wait till this morning but he’s already here at 6:30!” Mavis said as she entered her bathroom.

” Wait, you’re going to take your bath?”

” Duh, I am”

” Wait, what’s he wearing?”

” I don’t know… a suit? Why?”

” Because I can’t just walk in there in my pajamas looking crazy”

” It’s literally your house though and he’s the one who’s here too early.”

” Are you angry at this man or what?”

” I’m not, just -” Lisa’s statement was interrupted by Mavis vomiting violently.

” Ugh, you’re so messy”

” It’s not me, it’s the baby! Damn, that was not cute. You know what? When I have this kid I’ll give her a piece of my mind, letting her know how I suffered because of her from day 1″

” Can’t hear you!” Mavis said happily as she bathed. She couldn’t wait to give Pedro the papers to sign. This had to be the happiest day of her life as far as she was concerned. The only sad part is that she won’t be able to live here again. Aside from that, she was convinced that this day would go perfectly well for her.
