The Ceo’s Contract Lover

Save her

Dark clouds hung over Spring City, casting an ominous shadow on the bustling streets below.

The commoners continued their daily lives, ignorant of the impending changes in the business and political realms.

Meanwhile, the upper echelons of society were on tenterhooks as the power dynamics shifted.

Inside the grandeur of the Moore’s mansion, an air of tension hung heavy.

Isaac sat in his study, a storm brewing in his sharp gaze.

“Sir, three of our factories have been destroyed,”

“Sir, the batch of goods that were supposed to be delivered by air are detained.”

Isaac’s jaw clenched, the lines on his face etching deeper with each piece of devastating information.

The Moores had officially declared war on The Luxtons.

Isaac unleashed his wrath upon Jayden without reservation.

The feud between the two families escalated into a full-blown conflict, leaving no room for compromise.

As the war raged on, both sides suffered heavy losses.

“Sir, our hospitals in the south have been shut down. If this continues, the losses will be irrecoverable,” his assistant reported solemnly.

A grim expression settled on Isaac’s face as he grappled with the harsh reality unfolding before him. “I don’t care. Even if I have to go bankrupt, I’m willing, as long as I can bring him down,” he declared resolutely.

“Boss, the legal team of Luxton Corporation has provided evidence that it was an accident. With both the witnesses and testimony, the police cannot sue Nina Santiago,”

The legal team of the Luxton corporation was infamous for turning black into white, bending the rules to suit their agenda.

At that moment, Isaac’s phone buzzed, showing an incoming message. His hands tightened around the phone as he read the message.

“I’ve told you before, my wife is my bottom line. If you insist on being stubborn, I don’t mind fighting with you till the end. However, since you dared to touch my woman, I’ll have no choice but to make a move on your wife. I heard Switzerland is a good place for a vacation. If you want, I can send you to accompany your wife, too.”

The threat against his wife pushed Isaac to the edge and his expression turned extremely ugly. “Jayden Luxton, I’ve underestimated you.”

Emilia observed the scene from the sidelines with a calm exterior as though everything was under her consideration.

As Isaac’s frustration grew, she rose from her seat and approached her father.

“Dad, I have a way,”

Nina sat in her apartment, overwhelmed by the stress of her current situation.

Before long, a knock on the door disrupted her thoughts.

Perplexed, she wondered who could be visiting her at this hour. She opened the door and her eyes widened.

In front of her were several burly-looking men. Each one of them looked at her with a ferocity that made Nina take a step back in fear.

Realizing that their intentions were unfriendly, she hastily moved to close the door.

However, one of the men blocked the door, forcefully kicking it open with a resounding thud.

Fear immediately arose in Nina’s heart and she instinctively retreated a few steps.

The hostility emanating from these individuals was palpable, and it was clear that they had come for revenge.

Walking in, a man seized her arm with brutal strength, causing red marks to form on her wrist. His grip was so unrelenting that it felt as if he intended to shatter her bones.

Nina fought back, attempting to break free from his hold.

Suddenly, a powerful slap struck her across the face.

The impact was so forceful that Nina’s head snapped to the side, leaving fingerprints on her face. Stumbling backward, she felt a stinging pain from the side of her face.

“Who are you people, and what do you want?!” Nina shrieked.

But the men remained silent.

The man who had struck her before exchanged a silent signal with his companions. They seized Nina and hauled her out of her apartment.

Cold rain descended upon the city of Z.

Out on the city outskirts, a row of old and dilapidated houses stood lined up in rows. The pedestrian streets, once alive with the footsteps of residents now lay empty and quiet.

In one house, the rustic smell of blood filled the air.

Under the faint light, a woman, visibly battered, leaned against the wall.

Her brunette hair spilled around her shoulders, partially covering her face. The tips of her hair were tinged with a disturbing shade of red, sticky with blood.

In the chilly, dim light, the bruises on her cheeks became clear. Her eyes were squeezed shut and her brows knit in a deep furrow.

A thin line of blood seeped from the corner of her mouth.

Overwhelmed by pain, her body was stiff and unmoving. If not for her chest moving, she would have appeared dead.

Suddenly, a bucket of saltwater was splashed on the woman, finding its way into the wounds that marked her body.

Jolted by the unexpected surge of pain, Nina’s eyes shot open, and she gasped sharply in shock. The intense agony forced her to jerk her head back, colliding with the wall behind her.

As Nina’s vision cleared, the figure standing before her gradually became clear.

A shiver ran down her spine, and her blood turned cold as she looked at the person in horror. With a tremor in her voice, she uttered, “M-Mother…”

A sinister chuckle escaped the woman’s lips, sending an eerie chill through the room. “How have you been, my dear daughter?”

Without waiting for a response, Kristen, Nina’s mother, approached her.

Nina struggled violently, only to realize she was cuffed by metal chains.

With a cruel intent, Kristen squatted down, pulling Nina’s face close.

The forceful yank was so strong that it tore strands of hair from Nina’s scalp, jolting her awake with a sharp pain.

Wearing an eerie smile, Kristen extended her hand to pat Nina’s face. “Ten years have passed. I didn’t expect you to turn out to be a beauty. Not bad,” she remarked.

Nina, instinctively, tried to avoid her touch, but Kristen seized her chin firmly. “Look at you. Despite running for so many years, you still ended up in my hands. If you had obediently stayed by my side, you wouldn’t have suffered like this,”

Fear clung to Nina like a suffocating shroud as she pleaded. “P-Please let me go,”

“Why should I let you go?” Kristen’s voice dripped with menace, “It wasn’t easy for me to get hold of you. If it wasn’t for a kind woman, I wouldn’t have known about you.”

The woman Kristen mentioned was Emilia.

With a cruel satisfaction, she tightened her grip on Nina’s hair, forcefully slamming her head against the cold concrete wall.

Nina let out a stifled sound of pain as her brows furrowed. She squeezed her eyes, trying to endure the pain that shook her whole being.

The room started spinning, making everything blurry. Soon, she felt something warm running down her forehead, getting into her eyes.

“I missed you all these years,” Kristen said, turning around to grab a whip. “It’s time we have a mother-daughter talk.”

When Nina saw the whip, her face turned pale. She fought against the metal cuffs, the clinking noise echoing her desperate struggle.

SMACK!

The whip landed on Nina’s body ruthlessly.

The sound resounded throughout the entire house. It was loud and crisp, making one’s hair stand on end.

The whip landed on her shoulder, delivering a skin-ripping, excruciating pain.

Nina grunted, feeling beads of cold sweat sliding down the corners of her face and blood began seeping from the corner of her lips.

“Shameless b*tch! The s*** I gave birth to actually dreamed of becoming the mistress of the Luxton family? Have you looked at your identity?”

SMACK!

“Do you know how much I had suffered in the hands of that pervert after you ran away?”

One after another, the whip landed on Nina.

“M-mom. P-please don’t-” Nina pleaded, but her words were cut short as something welled up in her throat. She coughed out a foam of blood.

An evil glint formed in Kristen’s eyes.

Nina’s beautiful face had become an eyesore, and Kristen couldn’t wait to destroy her face.

“Disgraceful thing!” Kristen spat out with contempt.

She had taken pleasure in tormenting Nina from the time she was born.

Her cruel and malicious nature was on full display as she continued the brutal assault.

Kristen approached with a wicked expression, pulling at Nina’s hair. “I’m tempted to kill you right here, but…”

Nina’s face was slammed to the side, leaving a burning red palm mark on her cheek.

“I still have to extract every bit of usefulness from you before I end your life,” Kristen grinned.

Night fell in Spring City.

In the stillness of the night, a black Mercedes came to a halt in front of a building.

An unknown amount of time had passed, but no one got out of the car.

Sitting in the driver’s seat, Jayden clenched the steering wheel, running his fingers through his messy hair.

His bloodshot eyes revealed the fatigue of sleepless nights that had taken their toll on him.

He had just returned from country F; and, as fate would have it, he found himself in front of Nina’s apartment.

He was annoyed by how effortlessly she could stir his emotions.

He had been working, day and night, without a moment’s rest. Yet, not once had she reached out to call or message him.

Jayden’s heart ached at the thought of her blatant coldness.

With a frustrated groan, he slammed the steering wheel, causing his knuckles to whiten from the force. He started the engine and pulled away.

As he drove, his phone rang, and Nora’s name flashed on the screen. Initially, he considered ignoring the call, but Nora’s persistence made him pick up the call.

Before he could speak, Nora’s urgent voice filled the line. “Save Nina.”
