The CEO Gets What He Wants

Chapter 49

Chapter 49

Avery's cheeks turned pink.

The lady beside her chatted boldly and ran her mouth as she got excited, paying no heed to whether there were men beside them.

“Hey, spill! I'm so curious!” the lady urged earnestly.

Avery had no idea people nowadays were bold enough to chat about sexual topics in public.

Shaking her head, she said, “He isn't...”

Avery wanted to explain that Cayden was not her husband, but before she could finish the sentence, she trailed off when she noticed the lady secretly ogling Cayden.

The lady cut in, “We're women who are experienced in sex. There's no need to be shy. Mind telling me how many times you two have sex a week? Your husband looks really potent...”

After giving Cayden another admiring look, the lady continued, “He looks so domineering as though he's capable of having sex multiple times in a row.”

Avery was at a loss for words.

She couldn't bring herself to continue the chat.

Cayden wasn't her husband, and she dared not think about making him her husband. Besides, she didn't want to ponder whether he was capable enough of having sex with a woman multiple times in a

row.

“I'm sorry, but I need to go to the restroom.” Grabbing her bag, Avery found an excuse to leave the gossipy woman.

After coming out of the restroom, Avery took a seat in a slightly secluded area.

She waited for almost twenty minutes before the doctor called her name.

Avery got up and entered the doctor's consultation room. According to the doctor's instructions, she took off her skirt and underwear. She then lay in bed and waited for the doctor to carry out the examination.

“Lower. A bit lower,” the female doctor who was in her fifties instructed Avery.

Obediently, Avery went lower.

“Bend your legs. Open them up. Open up a bit more,” the doctor instructed. After Avery's posture was correct, she said, “What's your name?” Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

“Avery Rumpley,” came Avery's answer.

Avery wasn't a stranger to pelvic examinations. The first time she had one was around five years ago. She had to prove she was a healthy woman before she could get the chance to bear the man's children.

She could never forget how she had answered questions in her naked body as the icy equipment was stuck into her body. It was a long and tedious process.

Back then, she felt both humiliated and angry.

It might have happened five years ago, but she couldn't help but recall the fateful day whenever she had to do a pelvic examination.

Less than five minutes later, the doctor was done.

Avery sat up from the tiny bed and sighed in relief. After cleaning herself up, she put on her clothes hastily and filed out after the doctor.

She then returned to the waiting area and lined up to wait to receive her report.

Those who had completed their examinations would have to head in one by one to listen to the doctor explaining their reports.

When Avery's name was called, she stood up. To her shock, the man waiting in another secluded spot rose to his feet and came to the doctor's consultation room.

Avery halted in her tracks and stared at him.

Is he coming in with me? We're not husband and wife, so it isn't suitable for an irrelevant man to listen to the results of my pelvic examination!

“It's best to treat any condition as soon as possible. I won't allow you to take your body condition

lightly,” Cayden said, and there was a finality to his tone that warned her not to protest.

Avery frowned and wanted nothing more than to say no.

However, she recalled how the stranger had asked about their sex life earlier. Perhaps people in the society are more open-minded now, and everyone is more open to talking about sexual-related topics. It isn't the same conservative society that I experienced back when I was eighteen.

Cayden was a successful businessman who was able to gain control of the entire Moore family without anyone's support. That was enough to prove how capable he was. All successful men shared one similarity—they only cared about the pros and cons of every situation.

To them, love was cheap and vulgar.

Perhaps Cayden's worried that I've infected some sexually transmitted disease that could be passed on to him. Previously, Dr. Zeller's examination was not detailed enough. She gave me meds for my condition but didn't conduct a thorough examination on my body.

She couldn't help but wonder. What kind of sexually transmitted disease can be passed on to men and strike fear in their hearts? Syphilis? AIDS?

When Cayden stepped into the doctor's consultation room, assuming the identity of her husband, a strange thought popped up in Avery's mind. What if the doctor misdiagnosed me and announces that I have AIDS? I can't wait to see what his reaction would be when that happens. Will he get so scared and flee the scene right away? Will he stay away from me his entire life?

It wasn't until much later that Avery discovered one could only get examined for sexually transmitted

diseases such as syphilis and AIDS at large hospitals. The community hospital she was currently in didn't have the equipment to carry out the necessary examinations.

“Doctor, my body...” Avery grew nervous.

The doctor flipped through her report and responded, “You're doing fine. Pay more attention so you won't catch a cold. Don't overexert yourself with intense activities, too. You should get more rest.”

Having said that, the doctor looked up and gave Avery the once-over. “You look like a white-collar worker. These few days, you should refrain from wearing heels whenever possible.”

Avery nodded. “All right.”

“It's nothing serious, so don't worry. I'll prescribe you some medicine that you can buy at any pharmacy.” As the doctor prepared the prescription, she noticed that Cayden had been gazing at Avery. The doctor said, “Don't worry. Your wife is healthy. I've checked her ovaries and uterus. Her pelvic bone is also fine. With my years of experience as a doctor, I can assure you that she can birth children easily.”

Avery blushed furiously as she recalled an ancient saying. So they say women with big asses can give birth to children easily.

She couldn't remember where she had heard that from. Perhaps she had heard it as a joke from her Chanaean friends when she was studying abroad; perhaps she had heard her female neighbors mention it when she was living with her grandfather back then.

It didn't matter from where she had heard the saying. When the doctor announced that it was easy for

her to give birth to children, she couldn't help but get embarrassed, especially now that Cayden was right beside her.

With the report in her hands, Avery left the community hospital.

“Mr. Moore, I'm going home to sleep now,” she said without even looking at Cayden.

“I'll walk you to your building,” came Cayden's answer.

He took off his suit jacket and draped it over her shoulders. Knowing she'd reject his kind gesture, he held her shoulders after draping his suit jacket over her.

Avery took in his scent and squirmed uncomfortably. She raised her head and was adamant about rejecting his kind gesture.

Cayden refused to budge. “The doctor said you can't catch a cold.”

Avery couldn't get used to his concern. However, she thought about it and realized she had to play along with him if she wanted to stay away from him. After I go back home, he'll leave. We'll never see each other again.

With that thought in mind, she spun on her heels and entered her residential area.

The man followed her from a distance behind. Alas, his action merely served to show that they were in an ambiguous relationship.

All Cayden did was walk behind her. Strangely, she felt her entire body burning up despite the cooling breeze brushing against her body. Her heart started racing uncontrollably.
