Chapter 22: Agents Captured

Gato, a fairly big man, was standing over the trench-coated lump on the floor that was Sled Speed, with a piece of metal pipe in his hand. Behind him were two other men, both dressed in business suits and holding automatics pointed at Blaze and Aiko.

“Oh, my!” said Blaze. Aiko said nothing.

“Up with your hands!” ordered Gato. When the two women obeyed, he stepped forward and removed the gun from Blaze’s belt and the short sword from Aiko’s - being careful not to get between the guards with the guns and the women. He went to a cabinet and withdrew a handful of handcuffs. When Aiko’s and Blaze’s wrists were solidly locked behind them, he ordered them into the cell room where he locked them into two cells. But first he locked handcuffs on their ankles. Gato was a cautious man, and he did not know if these two women were good enough at the martial arts to be able to deliver an effective kick. So he made sure they could not kick at all. Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

It took the full strength of the two guards to drag Sled Speed’s body to a third cell and lock him in. But first Gato went through his pockets and removed extra magazines for Wilma, a small hunting knife, a set of brass knuckles, a hand grenade and a switchblade - not to mention his wallet and anything else he could find. Back in the lab, he picked up the automatic Sled had dropped and was amazed to feel how heavy it was, not to mention large. He had never seen a weapon like that before and made a joke to his guards about this American carrying a cannon around.

Dr. Sorren had already dismissed the intrusion from his mind and was planning the next alteration to his DNA modifying virus.
