Chapter 2096
After finishing her statement, Lydia turned on her heel and walked away.
Ethan was momentarily stunned. Was Lydia really planning to leave him to fend for himself with Dr. Funke?
How could she do that?
Ethan quickly followed after Lydia, like a loyal sidekick. "Lydia, where are you going? There are so many patients waiting for you, aren't you going to see them?"
"I'm going to get a drink. I'm a doctor, not a machine. Don't I need to hydrate?" Lydia didn't stop walking as she replied with a hint of impatience in her voice.
Ethan, however, didn't pick up on her irritation and cheerfully ran ahead. “Why don't you take a seat and relax for a bit? I'll get you some water."
Without waiting for Lydia's approval, he made a beeline for the water dispenser, eager to be of service.
Lydia frowned slightly but didn't stop him.
She couldn't understand it. He was a big-shot businessman, not someone who ran errands in a small clinic. What was he really after?
Lydia returned to her desk and continued consulting with her patients.
Soon enough, Ethan arrived with a glass of water, carefully placing it to Lydia's right. "It's a bit hot, be careful."
Lydia paid him no mind.
Seeing her so focused, Ethan decided not to disturb her further.Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Indeed, focusing on the task at hand paid off. Lydia soon finished consulting with all the elderly patients, who thanked her profusely before leaving the clinic with smiles on their faces.
Feeling appreciated, Lydia responded to their thanks and took a deep breath, preparing to wrap up for the day.
However, a new hand appeared on her consultation table-a hand that was slender, fair-skinned, and unmistakably male.
Lydia paused.
Ethan's teasing voice came from the front. "Dr. Lydia, I guess it's my turn now."
Lydia's smile faded, and she shot
Ethan a disapproving look. "Iobet
you, go see
Dr. Funke. He hasn't left yet. If you're lost, I can show you the
way."
"No, no, no My condition can only be treated by Dr. Lydia, just like Aunt Thalassa's could only be treated by Dr. Funke. It's the same principle," Ethan quickly stopped Lydia from leading the way.
Lydia shot Ethan a shocked look.
Did he realize what he was implying?
Dr. Funke treated Aunt Thalassa personally because he was pursuing her.
And now, Dr. Funke and Aunt Thalassa were an item!
།
Ethan's words made Lydia's heart skip a beat, more so than when she was pressured into accepting roses from the elderly gentlemen and ladies earlier.
Lydia's eyes widened with fury, and through gritted teeth, she warned Ethan, “Don't talk nonsense!"
"I'm only speaking the truth. How is that nonsense?" Ethan replied earnestly.
Lydia raised her voice in warning, "Don't make me hit you!"
Ethan stood tall, unafraid. “Go ahead. Wherever you strike, you'll be the one to patch me up anyway."
Before Lydia could explode, Dr. Funke's voice came from behind, “Lydia, what's going on? Why all the commotion?"
