The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet

Chapter 1980

By the time Alaric snapped out of it, Hertha had already reached the BMW, opening the door and preparing to get in.

Alaric, with swift steps, hurried to the passenger side, flinging the door open and sliding in.

Hertha froze, staring at him in disbelief. "Alaric, I've never seen you this eager about anything. What, rushing home for a blind date or something?" "Didn't I just finish a blind date?" Alaric's lips curved into a mischievous smile, his eyes twinkling as he looked at Hertha.

Playing dumb, Hertha looked around exaggeratedly. "With whom, exactly? There's no eligible bachelor or bachelorette in sight. Surely not the salesperson? Have we stopped caring about gender in the dating game now?"

Alaric's smile faded, his tone slightly annoyed. "Who said anything about not caring about gender?"

"So, who then? Was it Georgia who you managed to drive away earlier?" Hertha continued with her feigned ignorance.

Alaric's briefly kindled enthusiasm dimmed. "Let's just drive, okay? Weren't you heading to Royal Estates? It'll be dark soon."

With his serious tone, Hertha decided not to beat around the bush anymore. She got into the car, buckled her seatbelt but didn't start the car immediately. Instead, she shifted around in the seat, testing its comfort.

"Genuine leather, huh? Feels different; so comfy," Hertha mused.

Alaric's lips twitched. "A three hundred grand car and you're talking about genuine leather? That's a luxury for million-dollar rides."This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

"What a buzzkill," Hertha shot him a look. "To me, this is genuine leather. If I say it's genuine, then it is. Can't you let me boast for once about driving such a fancy car?"

"Oh, right, right, it's genuine leather. Whatever you say," Alaric quickly conceded.

Almost forgot, Hertha is not someone you want to tick off.

Especially when he was still holding out hope of winning her over. Offending her could make things extremely difficult.

Hertha rolled her eyes so hard, she almost wished she could do it to death, too lazy to entertain further conversation. She started the engine and drove off.

Alaric wisely chose to keep quiet. Midway through the drive, he realized something was off. "Hertha, where are we headed?"

This wasn't the way to Royal Estates.

"It's late, and Thalassa is probably getting ready to rest. We shouldn't disturb her, Besides, Lysander's leg is healed, they probably have a lot of catching up to do. Let's not be a third wheel," Hertha explained while driving.

"What? Lysander's leg is healed?" Alaric was out of the loop, having been caught up with work at the Crawley Group, with no time to keep tabs on Lysander.

Hertha's remark hit him like a revelation, shocking him.

Hertha sneaked a glance at him. "Surprised, are you? Didn't expect Lysander to get back on his feet?"

"He really can walk again, that's great!" Alaric exclaimed, thrilled with the confirmation.

With Lysander's injury, their group

had drifted apart, losing the vibrant interactions and gatherings of the past Could Lysander's recovery mean a return to those days?

Hertha chuckled. "I'd advise you to focus more on yourself rather than others Pay more attention to your own dife, or you might end up being sold without even realizing it."

"What's that supposed to mean? As if I'd ever be as clueless as you," Alaric retorted without thinking.
