Chapter 1948
Thalassa gasped, "What did you say?"
Callum leaned closer to Thalassa, so close that his lips were nearly brushing against her face!
His breath warmed Thalassa's cheeks. "You really don't know? Seems like Lysander doesn't trust you much after all!"
Thalassa feared he would suddenly lean in for a kiss, her head instinctively retreating to the side.
But his words shocked her even more. "What do the police chasing you have to do with Lysander?"
"It appears he really hasn't shared anything with you." Callum's gaze darkened, his temper flaring.
He had barely caught wind of the investigation when the police reopened the case of the explosion in Hollowbrook from three years ago, intending to pursue the mastermind.
Callum knew the investigation had turned towards him and immediately left his residence.
But he couldn't bear to just run away. Everything he did was for Thalassa, and in the end, not only did he fail to win her over, he even became a fugitive!
It was so unfair!
Callum decided to confront Thalassa, to settle scores that had never been settled.
"Callum, calm down, this isn't good for anyone," Thalassa pleaded, struggling to push Callum away, but her arms and legs were tied, rendering her immobile.
"No, it's bad for you, but for me, it's a chance to win!" With that, Callum's lips moved closer to Thalassa's face.
"Don't!" Thalassa resisted with all her might.
Meanwhile, Hertha was browsing the jewelry display at the counter, meticulously examining each piece. Thalassa hadn't returned, and her call to Thalassa went straight to voicemail.
Hearing that automated, impersonal voice, Hertha's heart skipped a beat.
Why would Thalassa's phone be off? Under normal circumstances, she would never do that.
Worried, Hertha headed to the restroom to look for her.
At first, she thought maybe Thalassa had been in a stall for too long, which was why she hadn't come back yet.
But after checking every stall and finding no sign of Thalassa, panic set in.
Another call to Thalassa went unanswered.

Tomorrow, Thalassa and Lysander were supposed to get their marriage license. Today, she had planned a day out with Thalassa, expecting to bring her back safely.
If anything happened to Thalassa, Lysander would blame her first!
She could already imagine Lysander's fury.
Finally finding Lysander's number, Hertha's trembling fingers dialed.This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
The phone barely rang once before Lysander answered, "What's up?"
Lysander's voice was cold, authoritative, and detached with everyone except Thalassa.
Panicking, Hertha's voice shook, "Lysander, I was supposed to be shopping with Thalassa..."
"Get to the point!" Lysander's voice grew tense and urgent, clearly not in the mood for chit-chat.
Startled, Hertha blurted out,
"Thalassa's gone. She said she was going to the restroom, but it's been over half an hour, and she's nowhere to be found. I can't find her inthe restroom, and her phone's off."
