Chapter 1898

Chapter 1898

Before anyone could even react, Thalassa had already grabbed Lydia by the arm and was making a beeline for the door.

Hertha was the first to snap out of it, scrambling to catch up. "Hey, Thalassa, wait for me!"

"You can't go," Ethan stood firmly, blocking Hertha's path, adamant about not letting her leave. If Hertha left, it would make explaining things with Alaric even more complicated.

After ensuring Hertha stayed put in the room, Ethan dashed out and slammed the door shut behind him.

As Hertha yanked at the door, Ethan's fading voice reached her, "I'm off then, Alaric's fate is in your hands!"

By the time Hertha managed to get the door open, Ethan, Thalassa, and Lydia were already out the door, which was now firmly shut behind them. Realizing it was too late to chase after them and struggling with the idea of abandoning Alaric, Hertha couldn't bring herself to actually do it.

With a huff, she turned around, glaring at Alaric who was lying in bed, "Great, everyone's gone now!"

Alaric couldn't help but smile, teasingly saying, "I don't need everyone, just having you is enough for me."

As he got up from the bed and moved closer to Hertha, intending to embrace her, she spun around and pushed him away, "Off you go, back to bed. Didn't Lydia say you'd be better after another couple of hours of sleep?"

Despite his efforts to get out of bed, Hertha pushed Alaric back down.

Tucking him in, she told him, "You get some sleep, I'm stepping out."

"Where are you going?" Alaric asked urgently.

Detecting the anxiety in his voice, she reassured him, "I'll be in the living room. Just call me when you wake up."Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

With that, she left the room.

Thankfully her mom was looking

after the kids today, so she didn't need to worry about them.

After all, he was still the father of her children. She couldn't just stand by and watch the kids' father die, could she?

That's how Hertha comforted herself, reminding herself that she wasn't staying because she cared for him; it was for the kids.

Hearing that Hertha would be just outside, Alaric felt a sense of relief wash over him. He closed his eyes, settling into a peaceful sleep.

Knowing that the one who brought him peace was right there, Alaric relaxed completely. With his eyes closed, he quickly fell asleep.

Georgia followed Angelina out of Alaric's house, venting her frustrations in the car.

"Angelina, what did you tell me

e

before we came here? You said you'd make sure Alaric would start. to accept me for the sake of the kids. But what did you do? You didn't speakup for me at all. Instead, you were so harsh, driving me away from Alaric's place!" Georgia didn't mince her words as she confronted Angelina.

Angelina was still holding the two-year-old boy, who was now cuddled against her, silent and scared.

The child was already timid and

easily frightened, and Georgia's rant

only scared him more, making bìm burrow further into Angelina's embrace.

Turning back, Angelina whispered, "Keep your voice down, can't you see you're scaring him?"
