The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet

Chapter 1824

Chapter 1824

Payne said, "I bet Joshua will be here any minute with his crew."

After a pause, he glanced at Thalassa, then at Lysander, and continued, "Let's bail, leave her behind."

Even without Payne spelling it out, Lysander got the drift.

Leave the bait to catch a bigger fish.

Otherwise, nabbing Susan now wouldn't reveal the depth of her ties with Joshua. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

Lysander told David, "Let's get out of here."

With that, he began pushing the wheelchair out, while Thalassa cast one last look at Susan before turning to follow Lysander.

Lysander and Thalassa were the first to exit the private room, followed by Payne, David, and a few bodyguards, leaving Susan alone inside. The bodyguards left Susan to her own devices, and without their support, she collapsed onto the couch, her neck hitting the backrest. The pain brought tears to her eyes. She propped herself up with her hands, struggling to sit upright.

Watching Thalassa and the others leave, she felt trapped. Her neck was so badly hurt that moving it seemed impossible. Standing was a challenge, let alone walking. Any vibration from walking felt like it could shatter her spine. She doubted she could even make it out of the bar alive.

All she could do was brace herself against the couch, trying to keep her shaky neck upright, waiting for someone to come to her aid.

On the drive back, Thalassa sat in the car, staring out the window as the scenery flew by in reverse. It seemed she was looking at the landscape, but her mind was elsewhere.

Lysander's deep, resonant voice broke the silence, "What's on your mind?"

Thalassa snapped back to reality, her gaze shifting towards Lysander, and she said with a hint of sadness, "Nothing much."

Though she didn't say it, Lysander could guess the turmoil she was feeling. "Let's wait and see how things unfold. There's always a reason why things happen."

Thalassa's discomfort

The source of Th

was the suspicion that Joshua was

supporting Susan behind the

scenes. Knowing full well that Susan

had set her up, and yet helping her, felt like a slap in the face to Thalassa.

Not long ago, Joshua had publicly acknowledged Thalassa as his daughter, defending her talents and clarifying her capabilities in jewelry design during a competition. And now, he seemed to be siding with Susan, who had frequently sabotaged Thalassa. It was a bitter pill to swallow.

"I guess it doesn't matter. I never really had his love to begin with, so there's nothing to be disappointed about," Thalassa said with a bitter laugh, her words tinged with resignation.

Her attempt to sound indifferent only highlighted how much she still cared.

Lysander reached out, pulling her close, and whispered, "You have me now..."

He was ready to give her all the love she missed out on - the fatherly affection she never felt, the romantic love she hadn't experienced. He wanted to fill those voids for her.

These thoughts stayed unspoken, but his embrace conveyed his deep affection and the silent promises he made to her.

In that moment of silence, their mutual support spoke volumes, conveying all the emotions that words could not. Their bond, silent yet profound, was everything they needed.
